Trent Richardson not traveling to New England for AFC title game

Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson did not travel with the team for Sunday's AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots due to personal reasons.

According to Bob Kravitz of WTHR, Richardson did not travel because he missed Saturday's walk-through and did not notify the Colts in advance.

Richardson was also reportedly not going to dress for Sunday's game.

Richardson began the season as the starter but has averaged just 3.3 yards per carry over 15 games and saw his role diminish later in the regular season, with Boom Herron seeing an increased workload.

Richardson, 23, did not play in last Sunday's 24-13 win over the Denver Broncos in the divisional round of the playoffs. Last week Richardson spoke about being ruled inactive.

"That situation will never happen to me again," he said, according to the Indianapolis Star. "Anybody can quote me, today, because it's never going to happen again."

The Colts first acquired Richardson, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 draft out of Alabama, in a September 2013 trade in which they sent a first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns. Over 14 games with the Colts last season, Richardson averaged only 32.7 yards per game.

With Richardson not traveling on Sunday, the Colts will likely use Herron, Zurlon Tipton and Michael Hill at running back.

Feeling an upset brewing in the AFCCG for some reason...

Has a Massive passing of the torch moment about it, Luck goes through two Future HOF's in back to back weeks, our last two wins have come from a obsence amount of rushing yards, i doubt that happens today.

Big third down here, if Seattle have to punt and Packers can go down and put more points up, i think it's time for the 12's to be VERY worried

To be fair that was a facemask

No doubt, but that was his 2nd drop already. One was a TD that turned to 3.

Seattle with a bad punt, returned to the 30ish. Pack already in a position to put more points up

Seattle extremely lucky but they give away the 1st down anyway.
Seattle in real trouble. They can't do anything right.

Seattle need to stop giving away penalties. Already with 6 accepted flags. I think they've had 2 declined
