GB warm-up features Saints juniors

No, it's a Newcastle Division Invitational side. Basically I think it will be players from the Newcastle competition from Lakes United, Wests, Nelson Bay etc. A fair few of them would have played for Country NSW. GB should hammer them but they should have hammered Burleigh in 1999 too. I think the Newcastle game is supposed to give GB a reasonably tough standard of competition without being so tough they lose face and confidence by being beaten or pushed to a narrow win. It would have been better if they'd taken on a proper Country Division or even a Country rep side but Newcastle runs the CRL these days and are not only happy to pillage the best players from the real Country clubs but then rob the real country areas of potentially big events like this.

Why didnt they play Newcastle or an NRL side anyways? They would beat any NRL side dont worry about that and they could get a real match not this crap, they will hammer them.

Really radical suggestion here (not!) but why aren't we playing PNG? For god's sake we have a nation that's nuts about the game, desperate for matches, and is right next door o the main event! No, it's far too simple and obvious to play against them!
