Ah awesome - thought it was today and I'd be at work at that time.
Vanquished definitely looks the goods for this one, I also don't mind the look of Pentane.

Vanquished appears to be a moral on the Metrop form and is an honest horse who rarely runs a bad race. However, there are many chances and I find it hard to rule out Kerry O'Reilly after the horse third in the Kelt Capital Stakes. Will be backing Vanquished E/w and will look to throw a bit of value in the multiples with Kerry and Irazu

the geelong cup now has the reputation of arguably the biggest and best provincial cup in australia....ever since media puzzle went throught the geelong cup to qualify for a start it has always produced good runners in the melb cup

I'm leaning towards Pentane at the moment.
Will probably change my mind though when i go to the TAB in my lunchbreak to put my bet on.

Boxed up Vanquished, On a Jeune and Pentane for a bit of an outsider trifecta. Will be laughing if it gets up, don't love my chances though :lol:

well i backed Kerry O'Reilly e/w

think it's got great form over in NZ and is getting fitter

i also took it in the Cup with Racing To Win in the Cox at 178/1 because after it wins today, those odds will be around 70/1. still great odds though.

Vanquished looked a good run, Mandela won well though

and for my horse Kerry O'Reilly, well it had it's chance when it got clear with 300 to go, but this was only the 3rd start this prep, and he was lumped with 58kg. drops 52kg in the cup and will have a slight chance. i'd like to see him have another start before the cup to get him hard fit for the 3200m
