Labor did say they would support a new stadium on the existing site, but want to see the business plan for the Paceway site before committing to it.
Hopefully they stand by their word, although a new stadium ~20k on the current site would be a disaster for supporters if it is done like Commbank.

Easily can and at a cheaper price than moving to the trots. We are talking about a nice little 25k stadium

Mate, people are trying to talk sense into you and you are having none of it. The site is physically too small. You can't ignore physics and engineering concerns. The northern end of the ground (hill is already too close to the road). The Eastern stand is as close to the road as you can get it. The western Stand could conceivably go closer to Mulgoa Road but that would eliminate the practice field and cause other problems.

Where are you going to add even 5K spots?

The Panthers stadium should have been built before Parra's and East's stadiums. Parra could have still played out of the Olympic stadium, or maybe the stadium they already had, and the Roosters home ground really didn't need to be pulled down.

Maybe THIS was the reason why the Libs weren't returned in Penrith because they stabbed us in the back by looking after the money men in Sydney.

So as it is right now, Labour could do no wrong if they did the homework and listen to those with the figures in how this project will not only benefit the People of Penrith, but aslo for the taxpayers of NSW.

Interesting to see the reaction at the next election if the stadium is not given the go ahead.

The stadium upgrade or relocation will not proceed. I'll be shocked if it does.

A lot still depends on the Penrith result. An Ayres win or a very close result could mean that the new Government could see the benefits of a new stadium ensuring the seat goes their way at the next election. They can easily say that they supported it before the election and can see the obvious benefits to the area and state.

The Penrith electorate has 56,000 voters.

You'd have to assume surrounding electorates of Blue Mountains, Mulgoa, Londonderry and Hawkesbury have similar. So 250k to 300k voters in the Panthers catchment.

A stadium of 30k would likely be attended by 50% under voting age. So approx 15k adults who use the stadium.

15k/250k who may have the stadium as an election issue.

Not sure the local public support is really there.

As a former stats person I can also say the the resultant swing to the ALP (although only 3.1% in Penrith) is a sign that it isn't an election issue for too many.

Take a look at stadiums around the world. It's very possible

Origin shake-up

The whispers keep getting louder that Nathan Cleary will have a new halves partner for the State of Origin series this year, with Jarome Luai in serious doubt of keeping his spot in the team. Could Nicho Hynes potentially partner Cleary for the crucial series that kicks off in Adelaide in May?

Nicho still has some major defensive lapses in his game which might be the sticking point. However in terms of attack he is the obvious candidate. Sharks are sublime to watch when they get a roll on.

He and Cleary cover each other as well. Either gets injured and we won't lose as much (Except for Cleary's goal kicking). If you play Luai at 6 and Wighton is your back up for the 7 then its an issue.
