The Canberra Raiders have issued a challenge to the people of Canberra, as they look for a full Canberra Stadium for their last home match of 2007.
The match will be the last chance to see some of the clubs favourite sons do battle at Canberra Stadium, with Jason Croker, Simon Woolford, Clinton Schifcofske, Adam Mogg, Jason Smith and Michael Hodgson all staying after the match to do a lap of honour to say thanks to the people of Canberra.
All of these Raiders stars will be joined by Coach Matt Elliott for some post match on-field interviews, as they say goodbye to the Canberra faithful.
If this is not enough incentive, then how about the chance to see the Raiders do battle with the high flying Melbourne Storm to secure a place in the NRL semi-finals, and get your last home Raiders fix in 2006.
Also join tackling dynamo Alan Tongue on his countdown to become the record holder for most tackles in an NRL season, as we count the tackles down with Tonguey throughout the match.
There will be plenty of entertainment on hand throughout the day, with local boy and Raiders fanatic Denis Carnahan entertaining the crowd pre-game with a host of Rugby League songs, including the theme to the footy show “You were there.”
At half time there will be the Raiders dance spectacular, with a host of local dance schools joining the Hogs Breath Raiderette’s for a thrilling dance display.
There is also the chance to win a limited edition Coke fridge thanks to Coke Zero, with the Raiders be seen in Green competition, with the best dressed Raiders fans given the chance to strut their stuff.
All in all it promises to be a great night’s entertainment and fun, with the chance to do your bit to help the Raiders finish season 2006 on a winning note.

They're advertising that one early. I'd be more concerned about the last home game of 2006 first.

Really? I didn't realise he was that close to breaking it. Go Tonguey!!

Will be quite interesting to hear them counting it down though

Didn't Tongue need to average 40 tackles a game for the rest of the season, about 5 rounds back, to break the record? He has got well over 40 in every game since.

I love the Tongue, go my son. Does that record include finals or just the 26 rounds? If its finals he will smash it well and truly, either way I hope he gets it. I'll definately be at the game, and a couple of my mates are coming down from Sydney for it, also getting a couple of my AFL supporter mates along.

Go the mighty Raiders.
