I am sorry to say this, maybe because Im spoiled after following the NRL but, the Grand Final comes across on tv so stale in presentation, music, colour (or lack of it), and a general same old theme.

It needs new blood and ideas.

Time it was also moved somewhere else too. Even give the City of Manchester Stadium a chance or even take it to Wembley when its built.

Pitch markings should be standard at all GF's (see other post)

A ban on all Queen songs during the trophy presentation

Fans be encouraged more to take huge colourful flags and banners

You may mock the Aussies but they do know how to market and present the game well.

Yeah, i must admit there wasn't as much emotion in the arena (then again, i wasn't there i can't really comment) then there was during the Tigers win. Or maybe it's just because Bradford win it every second year?

Here's hoping for a Salford v Wakefield Grand final in 2006 :)

Actually, having just attended my first ESL grand final, and comparing it to the NRL grand finals I've attended between 1982 and 2003 (missed out on 1985) I actually came away thinking there was a lot more atmosphere at Old Trafford than I've ever witnessed at the SFS or Hombush?

The ground really feels like it's on top of the playing field, the fence is that close and the stands designed like a rectangular prism rather than a spreading out rounded thing. The noise in the ground never stops from before the players are announced all through the play, compared to the relative silence I've sat amongst on some NRL Grand Final days.

And to see the impact of 68,000 league fans descend on a city for the weekend, wearing their colours out and about town, overhearing locals make comments about why the city centre seems so busy today are things that the feeling of travelling to Homebush Bay ghost town just does not compare with, in my experience.
