Farah on numerous occasions has said that Sheens was an influential factor when making his decision.

And its no secret Marshall feels the same.

Actually he's mentioned being a one club player, his first club, all the forward pack being locked up, the captaincy and friends/family as being the main factors.....I dont think Ive really heard him mention Sheens.

I would not be too sure on the value of Teflon to the players. No doubt he is a nice guy and gets on well with them but............

His games with player selection, persistence with failed playing options to the detriment of ability (ie Morris vs Head selection last year) and continuing games with playing people out of position ie Farah at half last year, playing Marshall at half this year, Harrison as a prop rather than back rower are noted by the players just as much as us, the fans.

BTW- I have heard that Farah was really pe'ed off at playing half last year, that he only did it for the team and that he asked for an assurance it would not happen again in 09- I dont know how true it is.

Listening to Farah on Talking Sports the other afternoon it was actually the opposite, Farah said that contrary to popular belief HE was the one who approached Teflon Tim and offered to play at #7 if it helped the team out.

I dunno- anyway, as I said, it was only what I had heard. I certainly am glad Farah did say something about it recently- maybe he had heard the same thing I had heard and was addressing it.

Apart from anything else, I'm glad he is with us again. With some astute buys over the next couple of years, we can maintain / rebuild a good competitive team that can perform consistently on the field.

Couldn't agree more Magpie it is great that he has re-signed and hopefully we can add to his signature with some key signings over the next couple of years.

Lets revisted this post mid season. Okay Sheens might have been some help in getting Robbie to resign and Maybe Benji but he is also the bloke who has put together a squad for 2009 without a class no7 and basically a front row, He is also the bloke that hasnt once put his hand up over the past three years and accepted any responsibilty for what happened, its never his fault.

Things might turn around this year, but my gut feeling is with most of the bookmakers and we will be close to the bottom and remember bookies back with the brain and not the heart

Yeah the same ones that gave the raiders no hope in o8 , but i do see your point and i cant see us doin any better than bottom 4 either, so lets hope we can do a Canberra and prove them wrong this year.

The bookies set a price to make money. If they get it wrong, people will back Canberra in. Not enough did. Right odds.

Yes, bookies are smart, but yes they also get it seriously wrong sometimes. When the Tigers won the comp in 05, at one point in the year, the tigers were at $151 to 1 to win, and they did.
