Saw him at Kogarah Oval when you played the Dragons in the finals last year, hanging with the Manly players and officials. I'd be surprised if he heads anywhere else

Would take him in a heartbeat.

An honest and solid toiler, who rarely made a mistake.

Would provide much needed experience to our bench.

I don't know if he could add much, only good thing is if he would work in the front row rotation where we are lacking a bit, plenty of talent coming through in the back row.
2008 was the odd year out when you look at his performances over his career, not the norm.

Lose the mullet and mo, then we'll talk...

Seriously though, they'll find a spot for him somewhere, on field or off.

So what's he like? I haven't seen much of him to be honest. What's the best/worst things about his game?

When he was with us, honest toiler, scored some good tries from close range, did have a few handling issues.

Overall he is a good buy, he gives 100% on the field..

Pretty much what EFE said.

Consistent, but nothing flashy. Makes plenty of metres and plays a fair amount of minutes.

Think maybe Steve Southern as a prop before he turned into dogsh*t ;-)

Not sure if I can remember that far back, it was a while ago...

So he's a solid-but-nothing-special prop? Is he better off starting, or does he offer some impact off the bench? And what are his weaknesses? Is he slow in cover/slide defence? Bad handling? Give away penalties?

You would have to be pretty desperate to have as a starting prop. On the bench or starting as a second rower who can slot in to prop is more his go. He didn't play many minutes, maybe 40 a game.

Low mistake rate, doesn't give many penalties away, plays in the middle and puts his head down and runs hard, his defence isn't great, not too mobile.

Got to remember before he came to us he had been entrenched in the NSW Cup for a few different clubs for 4 or 5 years.

Basically he could be good, but wouldn't be that surprising if he was playing Qld Cup. Wait and see.

As he's a big lad, I remember mobility always being a problem. He and George Rose were like turnstyles at times.

I think he'll be a decent buy for the Cowboys. Solid club player, who wouldn't be on huge money.

You lost Carl Webb and 'bought' Glenn Hall and have probably made a hundred thousand or so of cap space because of it. Decent move IMO.

I disagree on the defence thing. He was one of our most reliable. Remember this guy kept Steve Menzies out of the starting side playing backrow.

I really really rated Hall, and was so upset when he left.
