Glenn Stewart re-signs with Manly

Monday Apr 16 18:17 AEST

Manly second-rower Glenn Stewart has re-signed with the undefeated club for another three seasons, taking his contract through until the end of 2010.

Stewart has been one of the unsung heroes in the Sea Eagles' five-game winning streak to start the season and his consistency was rewarded with a new contract.

The 23-year-old accepted his new deal shortly after celebrating Manly's 16-14 NRL win over the Bulldogs last Saturday.

"I'm delighted to have my immediate future decided and I wouldn't want to play anywhere else than with Manly," he said.

"The build up to what is happening this season has been slow and calculated. I want to be part of the exciting future at Manly."

Stewart has come through the Manly junior representative ranks with his brother, fullback Brett, and made his debut in 2003.

He had played just 17 NRL games prior to this season but has cemented a first grade position through the retirement of former skipper Ben Kennedy and the absence of injured star Steve Menzies.

"I was happy to sit back and learn from players like BK (Kennedy) and Steve Menzies," said Stewart.

Excellent stuff.

The best thing about this is that Brett and Glenn sign as a duo. A club can't have one without the other.

My heart skipped a beat then, I have just changed the title of this thread to 'Re-signs' not 'Resigns' and great news by the way!
