Wow. When the going gets tough, change your name and hope everyone forgets what your mob did. As the supporter of a club who's had their fare share of drama, STICK WITH WHAT YOU'VE GOT... YOU'LL EMERGE FROM THE TUNNEL STRONGER!
It actually does work though....
Nobody associates this mob with the Storm despite them being effectively the same club rebranded.
And not many people imagine NRL = Super League, despite it being in effect the same organisation.
Really, the NRL logo was a second go at a first impression for the Supper league (everyone claims to hate SL, but the ARLC is doing exactly what Murdoch wanted to just 15 years later).

Fresh brands dont immediately create good connotations, but they to remove bad ones. It just provides a clean start and a second chance to at a lasting impression.
Persoanlly i think they should stick with "Titans" (it was a poor choice in 2007, but they have 8 years of exposure now). They should however redo the logo in a Bulldogs-2009/Panthers-2014 way to properly indicate a new dawn.
