Rock band Jet looking forward to performing at 2028 Grand Final
"Jet - only 25 years to go..."
Australias hottest rock band, Jet, told us this week that the success and hype surrounding the release of their debut album was insignificant compared to their likelihood of performing at the 2028 Grand Final.
People are calling us the hottest band in the world right now, said drummer Chris Cester. We know that means that, in 20 or 25 years time, the NRL might call us up and ask us to perform at the Grand Final.
Cester said that once the bands popularity had diminished and their music had faded into obscurity, the NRL would probably realise that Jet are quite popular with the younger crowd.
By 2028, we probably wont have had a gig or a hit song in five or 10 years. If thats the case, we should perfectly fit the NRLs criteria for performing at Stadium Australia on Grand Final day.
Cester added that he understood Powderfinger and the Living End had already received firm offers for the 2022 and 2023 Grand Finals respectively.
