Good Mythological Movies

I'm just after suggestions for any decent movies based on Greek, Roman, Norse or other culture's myths.

This is what I've already seen.

Jason and the Argonauts - 1960s version
Clash of the Titans
Wrath of the Titans
Ulysses - some black and white thing with Kirk Douglas?
Thor and Thor - The Dark World - wouldn't class these as mythological when set in the 21st century. Pure comic based rubbish.

Don't bother mentioning biblical movies as they are mostly one dimensional preachy crap - even though they are also based on fiction.

I read a fair bit of mythology when I was a kid. I find it strange that the movie industry hasn't used it more to create movies which would be akin to "historical science fiction".

Any suggestions appreciated.

Saw them do that live, and also the one with the Aliens.

Very, very funny.

Not sure I'd call it good, but Troy was at least entertaining.

In the late 90's they did a 2 part Mini-series called The Odyssey that I remember being pretty good (although it was so long ago I could be thinking of it more fondly than it was.)

I recall that Troy has Eric Bana in it? Got that as well - might need a revisit as well.

Must be something about Aussie actors and mythology. Sam Worthington as Perseus and Hemsworth as Thor.

But then again you couldn't go any worse than Lou Ferrigno and Dwayne Johnson as Hercules.

Eric Banna played Hector of Troy, Orlando Bloom is Paris who makes off with Helen. Brad Pitt played Achillies. Sean Bean played Odysseus. Peter O'Toole played King Priam of Troy. Also had Rose Byrne in it.

Ok movie, but a big name cast.

Troy was ok, but they cut out all of the mythological stuff and just made it like a historic epic.
Like how instead of Achilles being the son of a god, he is just a kick arse fighter. Or some shit.

I loved Jason and the Argonauts. Nightmarish stuff when I was a kid. The giant Achilles statue that came to life. Those freaky pterydactyl things. The army of skeletons and how they were created. etc etc. Awesome stuff.

Ray Harryhausen. Great stuff. You still see some homage to that stop frame animation style.
