The last quarter was awesome and the atmosphere at Optus Oval was unbelievable. The Swans still worry me though, particularly when we go to sleep all to often. Thankfully we were able to comeback in the last quarter and shut those damn Blues fans up.

The see of red and white in the Legends Stand is something I'll never forget and my god, it sounded like a Swans home game at times with the constant Sydney chant. All up a fantastic first ever adventure to Optus Oval. I love footy in Melbourne.

P.S. Glad to hear both you Oneye and Choppies enjoyed the victory. What happened Oneye (ie: new username)? Did you get banned over the weekend?

They worry me too and if they want to be a serious threat they don't want to be playing catch up footy each week!

Many sections of the ground were sold out. A bit over 26,000 from memory. I couldn't see to many empty seats there. ;-)

Sorry to bug you again beaussie mate, but I thought I'd help it if I found the posting.. You know, refresh your memory. ;-)

Oneye are you a Swans fan now?

EA Optus Oval was sold out with a crowd of just over 26,000. How many sellouts were there in the NRL this weekend?

And I asked you if that was right considering that Carlton claim that Optus has a capacity of 35,000.

Do you remember now?

Sellout and capacity are two different things .The West Coast Eagles and I think Adelaide Crows are season sellouts , but the crowd varies .
In other words the seats are sold , it's just a question of how many people show up . One year the Brisbane lions membership went down after the capacity was increased because people felt they they didn't need a membership to ensure a seat .Even though memberships went down the average crowd was up for the year .

But, SOO wasn't a sell-out according to beaussie even though a sell-out was widely reported. That was with less than 2% of seats empty on the night (1,200).

If Carlton had 9,000 (25%) people pay but not turn up, I'm the Pope.

beaussie is a liar and trash. And if he keeps posting in the NRL section, I'll keep reminding him of his lies in the AFL section.

The quote stands as "sections were sold out" , not a total sellout . Simple slight of hand and since this is the AFL section , no harm done .

Where does it say "sections were sold-out"?

You're confusing the beaussie in the AFL section of LU with the beaussie elsewhere in LU. Here, he's a mild mannered AFL supporter. Elsewhere, he's a lying toe-rag.

Here, he'll be careful because he knows that the real AFL supporters in LU won't wear his crap. But occasionally, it's polite to remind them of the damage he does to AFL elsewhere in LU.
