With both Tallis and Johns unavailable to tour in November, Australia is without a Test Captain.

Personally, I think Lockyer is a shoe-in for the job and I'd love to see him get it, but... we all know what Opes is like, and I'm half expecting to see Noddy get it.

I wouldn't be disappointed with either, But I think the majority of fans would prefer Lockie over Noddy.

Who do you all think is the Odds on choice as Tallis' replacement?

Lockyer should be a shoe in .......the QRL wouldnt have a bar of noddy getting the gig........and if Lockyer didnt want it, im sure the QRL would flex the muscle and get webcke the gig! But if noddy got it i wouldnt mind ........he's right up there with the most experienced in the squad, and he wouldnt let anyone down!

Who ever gets picked ....it shouldnt really matter! Its not much more than a claytons captaincy anyway ...........NSW's legitimate heir to the throne a.k.a Barret is out

it has to be Lockyer who else could it be
Webcke, Gower, Kimmorley, Price, possibly Fitzgibbon.

But you're right, as long as he wants it Locky should be a certainty.

Definatley not Andersons lover-boy Kimmorley as captain, his captaincy record is poor this season, so why should he be the captain of Australia. Its got to be either Lockyer, Price or Gower.

Anyone think international rugby league is becoming a joke to the aussies?

I heard Menzies was going to declare himself unavailable because he's going on a holiday with a mate?

Theres usually end of year injuries - but as it stands theres something like 7-9 players declared unavailable..

The following players have officially notified the ARL that they are unavailable for the Tour: Matt Gidley (Knights), Bryan Fletcher (Souths), Jamie Lyon (Parramatta), Shaun Timmins, Luke Bailey (Dragons), Josh Hannay (Cowboys) Gorden Tallis (Brisbane), Andrew Johns (Newcastle)

Anyone else to add to that list?

Menzies knew he wasnt gonna get picked anyway with the season he had. Thats why he took a holiday.

Well with all these other 'injuries' popping up there may very well be a spot for him.

I know some Dogs' players actually have a chance to get in now because of the amount of unavailables.

I think if you went through the touring sides of past years you would probably find a similar amount, it just seems this season its the top line players, more a coincidence I would hope then they deciding its not worth it.

Atleast we will be able to see if the old, "Australia could pick 2 or 3 sides to beat the poms", stands up to the test.
