Gordon RUFC results for the weekend showed that several former backs from NSWRL competitions are now playing for that club:

1st grade - Jone Kagi was a winger for the Sydney Bulls in 2004.

2nd grade - Andrew Moodie and Richard Retimana bothg played for North Sydnet Premier League in 2005 and 2006.

3rd grade - Gilbert Modrau played wing for Newtown JB in 2006.

I noticed Gordon had big wins in all grades on the weekend. Although they were only playing Penrith who struggle.

Andrew Moodie joined Norths from Parramatta RU and i think he had represented Australia at Under-21s level. Richard Retimana also has a background in Union and earlier this year he was joint player of the tournament in a 7's competition for Gordon. I don't know why both aren't in 1st grade. Both gave good service to Norths in Premier League for a couple of years.

Jone Kagi had the off-season and played in 4 trials for Norths in 2006. He was playing as a prop and had been playing so well that i thought that he woud go on to play NRL. He is a giant. Unfortunately for Norths he was given a very good offer by Gordon RU and he left Norths right before Round 1 of Premier League. If Kagi had stayed i think Norths would have made the top 8 last year.

Chatswood Oval is a beautiful suburban ground.

Does anyone know if rugby league has ever been played there?
