Got myself a new team - The Cleveland Cavaliers

Having lost my team a few years ago ( the seattle supersonics) I have been in the NBA wilderness ever since. I love the sport but without a team to support it just hasnt been the same.

Seeing Lebron James make his announcement on TV like that showed the worst of the NBA. Much like the sonics leaving seattle it was a massive slap in the face to Cavs fans and all NBA fans.

I dont mind him leaving , he's free to do what he wants. Just the way he did it shows everything thats bad about the NBA.

So from now on , until the Seattle Supersonics are returned to the NBA I will be a Cleveland Cavaliers fan!

GO CAVS!

I will have a soft spot for them now.

Its the underdog theory.

Everyone expects them to be a lottery team now.

I think with their roster and their new coach I don't see that happening.

Do I think they'll be in the play-offs...no.

But they are negotiating a sign and trade deal for Lebron which gives them the trade exception of $16m to bring someone in..but they will also be receiving potentially 2 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks in the future from the Heat.

Granted they will likely be late picks in the draft, but should allow them to package and get a really good player to add to their team.

I think this has really fired Dan Gilbert up as well as the rest of his players. They know now its up to them to perform and they can't rely on LeBron.

I can see Scott wanting to bring Chris Paul over when his contract expires next season with the Hornets. Maybe sooner to use that Trade Exception.

I read the other day Chris Paul is signing on with LeBronze's management team so I doubt he'd end up at the Cavs. There is a rumour he'll join the Heat, but I don't think they'll be able to get him under the cap.

I was a Sonics fan too but I'll continue to not support a team. The NBA just isn't that fun any more, there are pretty much no personalities left in the game.

You didn't want to support OKC Thunder, Kevin Durant is going to take them places very soon, it must be tough because if the Sonics didn't relocate to OKC, they would have Durant and be on the map again with awesome team.

I wouldn't support them because I'd been supporting the Sonics for over a decade, so I very much identified with the Seattle part of it. If Seattle ever get a new team I'll support them, it won't be like it was though.

If any of you NBA fans are interested there has been a movie made about it that has won a few internet movie awards. You can watch it here: http://www.sonicsgate.org/movie/

It does a good job of assigning blame on several different groups.
