Maybe it's the fact that's it late at night but i believe that system has merit.

A system like that has merit. Roosters and Panthers would be much better opposition than the likes of Manly and Sharks.

The system I do like is the Super 14 style of system. 4 points for a win, 1 for losing by 7 or less (would be 6 in league), bonus point for 4 tries or more (probally would have to be 5 in league). I don't think this Gould system is good at all.

then why did they lose more games?

Gould has lost the plot.

That gets teams with even poorer win/loss records into the finals than now. You could go through unfeated and miss the semis.

No it's mathematically impossible for that to happen.

I don't like the system but I doubt that will happen

even if you win all 24 games by less the 7 but in normal time thats still 168 pts.

7 x 24 = A lot of points = mathematically impossible. Razor's spot on.

you could see tho

Team

Wins 5 games by 24+ (50 pts)
lose 10 games by less the 7 (30 pts)
lose 9 games in extra time (36 pts)

and end up with 116 pts which could see them make the finals having won just 5 games

So does what actually would've happened, Manly and Cronulla won more games than Easts or Penrith.
