Just an appreciation thread for the most under rated player, but in my opinion, one of the most influential player in the team that seems to not get the accolades he deserves.

Gower is the most consistent, level headed, inspirational player to wear the blue and gold since the great Hindmarsh.

I think he is the new Hindmarshisgod

I was a bit nonplussed when he harassed Wayne Pearce's 17-year-old niece but he seems to have come back a completely different man.

He's a great example of a player who has been around for years in the lower grades at the Tigers, the Dragons and Manly. Only playing a handful of games over all those years. Some players simply are not ready for NRL level football once they turn 19 or 20, some players take longer to mature into NRL footballers. Too many players are discarded if they don't become instant starts as youngsters. Well done David, you are playing great football and did last year as well.

he was probably always capable of what he does now .... he just is NOT a flash player that people get all excited about - so he needed a coach who can see him for what he is and accept the value that he can add to a team

The guy is a genuine footballer, unlike so many modern forwards. The only thing Gower doesn't do well is wrestle, which has unfortunately become so important in rugby league.

I would have agreed last year Pou. This season, especially against Souths, he has gotten much better. I suppose playing with other forwards that are winning the ruck helps. I think more then anything it proves that it has to be a whole team approach to be successful at slowing the opposition down and defending moving forward.

It's the wrong Gower - you are addressing Craig Gower, ex captain of the Panthers back in 2008.

 His Mrs tits are great. Remember when she was Lady Luck on the footy show? I wouldn't have thought Davey could pull such a hot specimen.
