Sorry, But I think that Ozzies Post in the GF is one of the best articles I have ever read, It is the saddest story and I had a tear but I belive that its worth an easy 9.5+

Anyone Agree?

Congratulations Ozzie and Sorry about your father but you really wrote that well after what you have gone through.

It's a blinder Parramatt and he should be commended for sharing such a personal experience with us all.

Ozzie sent it to me to get my impression prior to posting it. I thought it brilliant and even got emotional reading it a second time. Not only is Ozzie a great Captain, he's a wonderful man. I love him. 8)

I like you Deb get emotional....even when I think of the article and upon reading everyones comments...it was written brilliantly from the heart and you can feel their special bond when reading it.

My son was throwing a ball at me very badly yesterday and I even found myself saying to him "you did good"

Whilst the thread is open, special reserve plaudits to Ozzie who peaked at exactly the right time, writing an exceptional article that set the stage for arguably the best Forum Sevens match I have ever seen.

Personally, a story like Ozzie's doesn't need to come under any marking scrutiny as it's obvious he wrote in a manner where he just spoke his heart hardly caring about the result, but the emotions of the readers. Well done my friend.

Note: On the scores though, I thought it was a bit tacky for the Roosters to win by .1 Hehe it's as if the marks were allocated, and perhaps even altered to make an intruiging scoreline. Nevertheless a result has been withdrawn and special congradts go to the Roosters and Bluebags as a collective group for putting on one hell of a show.

Cheers.

It was just that there were 10 fantastic posters in that game that would be the star player in there own right at any other club. The top three teams this year were so close that it makes next year even more interesting. And ozzie mate you certainly picked an opportune time to post one of the best articles in the opinions of many. Congrats to all involved.

Ahh, there's one in every crowd...
Luckily for you, Mystique is unlikley to read that. She keeps out of the F7s politics totally.

To suggest that the result was in some way contrived is way off beam.

FYI, Mystique marks the match 'blind' - that is, she copied and pasted the essays and didnt look at who the writer was or which team they played for. She then spent two days carefully reading the essays and only after she marked them, did she know who wrote them.
This is the policy of all refs now but Mystique is the best ref because she keeps well away from the rubbish talk - one of the reasons why is so good at what she does.

Being on the losing side, I have no qualms with the result or marking. The reason why it was so close was because all the essays were of high standard. This often being the case with the big matches.

Haha, ahhhh in comes the trusty and never wrong management, looking too far into a story and broadcasting something of nothing!

I don't actually recall singling anyone out (unlike some people) or making a big fuss out of this. Hell if anything I looked at it and went "hah-righteo then" (to be honest I was still wrapped on Ozzie's superb post to think anything more of it).

You didn't need to tell me about Mystique's marking policy, for me to know she was the best referee in the business. I absolutely love her marking style, it's so parallel to the style I became acquianted with whilst at rleague.

Plus I know that all referee's involved do this out of their own time for a money profit of absolutely nothing, and for that no one can complain about their devotion to the competition.

Apologies if my remarks were taken out of context, and I do sincerely hope this thread continues to praise those involved in the amazing grand final show. Each of the ten posters deserved it!

By the way dvd, I stumbled across a low-key parramatta forum with a few members who seem interested in the competition, so I'll send you the address dude, and give you the first crack at signing them (if the pm doesn't work, lemme know). If the new cap is to stand, we won't be able to fit them

Cheers dudes and dudettes! 8)

LMAO... talk about people in glass houses...
El Coconuto.. If there was an award for the Whinging Non-participant of the Year, you would have won it hands down.
Excuse me for not noticing that you were here to actually say something positive for a change - obviously I am in misguided and have misread your past intentions and dummy spits... what was I thinking when I read this...?
it's as if the marks were allocated, and perhaps even altered to make an intruiging scoreline

What was it that happened to you again..? Oh yeah... a few months back your post was late and therefore didnt qualify. The ref made a decision and you quit the game because you didn't want to abide by the referee's decision. The tantrum of the year!
It was hilarious... even more so now that you cynically reckon we have a 'never wrong management'.

But it wasnt really quitting that was on your mind... you then came back to make a few snide remarks and made out that you 'knew thngs' (I love people who think they have inside information... LOL) and that the competition was buggered.
When asked what these 'things' were, you exercised your democratic right to say nothing.
Offcourse, according to you, its only management who 'look too far into a story and broadcasting something of nothing' so again, what was I thinking?

In all honesty, you would have better off saying, 'thanks for the clarification'. :-$

Haha oh dear sweet el presidente,

Once again, never wrong are we? Although it's hardly worth continuing this conversation, for heck's sake, I might as well.

Haha oh this cracks me up honestly, because for one, contrary to what you may or may not have heard, I actually walked away from the competition this season due to scholarship commitments. I apologised to Tamazoid straight after that game (which hell we even won), and I even have the conversation for heaven's sake. It's hardly fair to point fingers when I was overseas for the better part of this season but then again, I can't win with he who has all powers can I?

As for 'excercising my right to say nothing' I'm sorry if I was trying to avoid confrontation. If you need or still see it fit to linger on such things, I'll happily pm you the reason certain things were and weren't said. As people will tell you, I'll do anything to avoid confrontation.

At the time in question, the disregarded post was more the tip of the iceberg than the sole reason I left and had a "dummy-spit" as you're trying to make it sound.

If you ask the majority of Cronulla players who were still here, you'll find that there was a lot of unrest within the Sharks camp, which is what I claimed to have been informed on (yet once again to refine it to object that I was claiming to be in the know in regards to forum matters).

Under Tama, we survived and having taken a lot of things for granted in the past, I'm going to take this opportunity to personally thanks Tama for keeping the team alive, which is currently rebuilding and looking like being there come new season. Props to Tama for that one.

Also, I still have a lot of respect for what you have done for this competition as well Willow, and I'm going to go as far to say that as much as Tama kept the Sharks alive, you kept the F7's alive, and deserve no disrespect from me or anyone else in this joint. I'm just not too much a fan of slants in any form and am now being forced to defend my stance.

I have countless logs of discussions as to why and where I left and was during this entire season that more than accounts for my actions (or 'dummy-spitting' if you will).

Apologies once again, if you have taken things out of context (hell I'm probably even doing it now) but there was no intent on my behalf to crucify anyone in any of posts (as has always been the case).

I'm looking forward to the new season now that certain things have been sorted out and unlike some others, I'm not looking for any trouble with management (for the most part I get along with the majority of them in here and elsewhere).

Oh and by the way, thanks for the clarification.

Ok mate. fair enough. I didnt intend to make a federal case out of it. Thanks for that,
btw, I admit to being somewhat defensive about the referees. Without them, we dont have a competition. While I can see you meant nothing by it, I also know that some others may read more into.
I was directly involved with all the refs in 2003 and I have to say that by-and-large, they were incredibly meticulous, professional and honest... and in a way, I think everyone should try it once, if only to appreciate the job they do.
Equally, thanks for the clarification. ;-)
Bring on 2004.

Backpacker will be doing the draw.
Firstly we need to finalise the teams (wont know this till January at the earliest).
Then we'll make it so the comp starts at roughly the same time as the NRL season and is completed roughly by the time of the NRL grand final.

Thanks for the praise El Coco. I was just doing my job.
