What are the great opening lines that set the tone, mood of a song?

Obviously there are some classics eg

"Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again"
- Simon & Garfunkel, The Sound of Silence

"I read the news today, oh boy"
- The Beatles, A Day In The Life

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
Bob Dylan-Like A Rolling Stone

etc, what other ones do you love?

Few favourites of mine, probably more I can't think of

Jeremy: At home drawing pictures of mountain tops with him on top...
Betterman: Waiting, watching the clock it's 4 o' clock...
Fight Like a Brave: RAHR! (not so much an opening line but it sets the tone for the rest of the song)
Strawberry Fields: Let me take you down, cause I'm going to... Strawberry Fields...

A Pearl Jam fan apparently....

And I'm an Iggy Pop fan.

"Here comes Johnny Yen again....with the liquor and drugs...and the flesh machine..."

Lust for Life by Iggy Pop from the album Lust for Life.

I've seen him live four times from 1983 to 2011. Never loses that energy for an old dude. Trouble is his later stuff gets a bit lame. Stooges days and the late 70s/early 80s with David Bowie's guidance were the best.

"Stained glass windows keep the cold outside
While the hypocrites hide inside"

Religion by Public Image Limited from the album First Issue.

The most powerful anti-religious song of all time, surpassing "Killing In The Name" by Rage Against The Machine by a huge margin.

I cannot stand religion or what it stands for. No need to dicuss it further here.
