Chris unfortunately is up against it and whilst he was great, maybe the last spot on the bench should be his to contend because Daley is Daley winner Raider of the year for so many times, he deserves it.

FFS, put McLinden in there. greeneyed, you're seriously getting to me with your bias against new players.

As I have said, McLinden is my favourite "current" Raiders player. But I can't see how he matches Daley and O'Sullivan. And the balance of opinion on the nominations thread suggested that a nomination for Macca wouldn't be received well.

Anyway, I can't change the poll now. Only Thickos as a mod can make an addition. It's up to him.

we all knew Daley was gonna win this, but one of the main reasons we made a poll was to "give O'Sullivan some credit". McLinden would definitely not win best Raiders 5/8, but i believe he deserves a nomination.

I'm with greeneyed on this one. Daley's gonna win by a landslide. Why even bother arguing the point about McLinden.

I will happily add Macca if you want but I will need to see evidence of him wanting to be there by more than 1 or 2 people.

Lozza has got it in the bag anyway.

I think it was nearly as clear cut as Meninga... not quite, but close

He captained his club, state and country, and IMO would hold his own in a "Best ever 5/8th," not just a raiders poll...

I think Daley would win overwhelmingly, but I have a real place in the heart for Chris O'Sullivan. He was there from the start and he won the Premiership and reached the top of the mountain! You just had to love it as a story. When he retired, I cried many more tears than when Laurie retired....

thats deep man... youre gonna make me cry if youre not careful...

I cried the day of Laurie's last home game against the roosters, but I blamed it on the rain. 8)

On a brighter note, O'Sullivan's journey may have been better, but Daley was still the better player.

i was there, too. we made the trip up to Canberra for the game - it was f**king unreal. there was a rainbow starting and ending on either side of Bruce Stadium, right on full time. Amazing.
