[FONT=&quot]Psycho: Able to transcend its roots as a horror flick, Psycho has earned considerable mainstream acclaim and remains terrifying even today.

Monty Python & The Holy Grail: Arguably the Python crew's finest work, this irreverant and downright silly take on a classic story is still heavily quoted today.

Fargo: Exposing the world to the Coen Brothers' unique style of direction and writing, this dark comedy featured an unusual plot and a slew of quirky characters.

Letters from Iwo Jima: A companion piece to the boring and preachy 'Flags of our Fathers', this is one of the better received modern war flicks. Taking the audience to a side of the conflict rarely shown in Western cinema, it won an Oscar for its sound editing.

Boogie Nights: One of Paul Thomas Anderson's better received works, the tale of Dirk Diggler and his collosal member was carried more by the outstanding support cast than Wahlberg's own efforts.

3:10 to Yuma: In a genre seeing less and less success these days, 3:10 featured an enthralling of cat and mouse played out by Christian Bale and Russell Crowe with their characteristic brilliance.

Yikes. Toughest group yet i reckon, even though i haven't seen Boogie Nights.

Psycho is an absolute classic that i only first saw about 4 months ago. Very tense horror/thriller which had you on the edge of your seat without the customary gore and bloodshed of contemporary horror flicks. It also had a memorable twist at the end which i didnt see coming.

Fargo is another classic. I'm a huge fan of the Coen brothers and pretty much love all of their movies. They have such a unique quality and in Fargo you can almost taste the smell of the Minnesota air with the way Fargo draws you into its world. Funny, edgy, offbeat and with good twists.

Kudos also to Holy Grail which is one of the funniest movies ive seen and 3:10 to Yuma which is one of the better westerns ive seen over the last 20 odd years. Bale and Rusty Crowe are two of the best actors of this generation and they both made this movie with the mindgames and interplay between their characters.

BUT...i have to go with Letters from Iwo Jima which on most days i consider to be the best war movie ive ever seen. Nobody creates characters and feelings of emotion better than Eastwood (Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven).

Also like war movies before it such as Paths of Glory & All Quiet on the Western Front it showed that the soldiers, on both sides, are the victims of mad beurocracy and warmongering tyrants.

The movie doesn't take sides and shows you the human aspect of the Japanese soliders who like Allied soldiers had families who they loved, but ultimately had little choice but to throw away their lives because of crazy leaders and a tragically misguided sense of honour (the suicide scene with the grenades is hard to watch).

I went with 3:10, mostly because my other pick (Python) should almost certainly carry this group.

I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of eldeberries.

How can a gut wrenching comedy, come up against a movie that leaves you almost holding back a tear for a brutal enemy, due to it's cinematic quality, all in the first up heat ???

Im picking Iwo for the impact it had on me, but Holy grail is a very funny flick from the monty python crew at their best.

You know, this poll is a bit of fun ( and I have actually seen about 99 per cent of the films on here ), but surely when "Everyone" has not even seen all of the movies, how can they fairly and truly pick what they consider to the best out of say 5 films, when they have only seen 2 out of the five.

Anyway. Bitta fun though.

I've seen them all and to be perfectly frank, even though the other movies are top shelf, Grail is the funniest movie I will ever see in my life.

I've seen it 100 times yet there always seems to be something new I hadn't noticed before.

For example, in one of the scenes, Arthur and the Knights are "riding" down an embankment and there is a bloke fishing in a puddle using a club.

It is good mate. No arguement there. I have it in my collection too. The knight at bridge scene is an old favourite.
