[Misanthrope]

[FONT=&quot]Dr. Strangelove: Seen by many as Kubrick's greatest work, this black comedy about a mad general who brings the world to the brink of nuclear annihilation is still rated as one of the finest films of all time.

Forrest Gump: A sweet, innocent, and touching tale of one 'special' man and his remarkable life.

Unforgiven: Arguably the best Western made in the past twenty years. Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman producing some of their best work.

The Big Lebowski: Another Coen Brothers masterpiece, who didn't love 'The Dude' and all of his idiosyncratic friends and the stupid sh*t they got up to. Made White Russians cool.

Hot Fuzz: One of the more recent participants on the poll, many are already hailing this dark comedy about cops in rural England as one of the best comedies of our time. Certainly a laugh a minute.

Dr Strangelove. The best black comedy of all-time. Bloody hilarious.

Peter Sellers = God.
George C. Scott = God II

This movie is pure genius. No surprises then to see it way behind the others in the vote.

Having said that it is another tough group. Unforgiven is one of the greatest westerns ever, Hot Fuzz one of my favourite comedies, Big Lebowski a cult classic and Forrest Gump a loveable favourite for most.

Would have voted for Forrest if I was here in time. Even if it's not the best story ever told, the way the movie tells the story is second to none. Isn't that what the movie business is all about?
