[FONT=&quot]The Silence of the Lambs: Introduced the world to the unnerving brilliance of Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter and did so in chilling, unflinching style. A truly classic thriller.

The Pianist: Adrien Brody's performance in this World War II epic is what makes it stand out. A wrenching, tour de force performance from Brody.

Donnie Darko: Something of a cult favourite, this twisted tale has become the voice of a generation.

The Princess Bride: Has aged far better than so many of its contemporaries. This is a sweet, innocent, and fun fantasy that manages to bridge the gap between children and adults.

Manhattan: One of Woody Allen's most well received pictures, this tale of a forty something writer who must choose between his best friend's lover and his seventeen year old girlfriend.

I do enjoy Darko, but if anything, it's overrated. Before I saw it, I read and heard so much artsy wank about it that I nearly boycotted it entirely.

its the most multifarious film i've seen. However, its appreciated only for its cult status rather than the actual piece of work. Really you have to approach it like a detective approaches a crime scene to truly get the movie's value... definately not one for the lazy sunday arvo.

I don't think the Princess Bride has aged well at all. I saw it for the first time last year and thought it was like most movies that came out of the eighties, pretty dreadful.

Donnie Darko, just imo, but I love Woody Allen so if I'd seen Manhattan I might have gone another way.

Indeed.

Silence....hands down.

"It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again...".

Whenever I hear Q Lazzarus' song "Goodbye Horses" I can't help but laugh when he tucked his bits in and did that mincing catwalk strut...

Jay did it better in Clerks 2.

All of them are great.

I had to go with Donnie Darko, with Manhattan and The Princess Bride close behind.

Underrated? People f**king rave about it. Sure, its a good movie, but not as good as its made out.
