Memento: A surprisingly good thriller, Memento's unique storytelling style and enthralling plot make it something of a modern day classic.

Alien: Arguably the greatest science fiction movie of all time, this slow paced thriller introduced the world to the 'Alien' and spawned countless knock-offs, parodies, and sequels.

Kill Bill: A visual feast, Tarantino's martial arts epic spanned two films that really felt like separate franchises. The bloody, visceral first film gave way to a much better paced, better acted sequel with a satisfying conclusion. One of Tarantino's most refined works.

Heat: The intense cat and mouse between two of the world's finest actors makes this movie stand out above a great many other thrillers.

Hero: A visually stunning Jet Li epic, Hero was full of absolutely breath-taking cinematography and some amazing fight scenes.

The first Kill Bill was awesome. The 2nd one was boring... very disappointing.

Honourable mention to Momento.

Kill Bill for me. 10 years ago, if you asked me if I'd like a movie about a woman kicking butt, I'd have laughed you away. THAT is how good Tarantino is. He gave it great entertainment value.

I thought the first was far more exciting and had better cinematography, but the second felt like he'd actually stopped to think about giving the film a plot and some characters you gave a damn about.

seen none of them
starting to become a common theme
Im starting to think youre taking the piss.

You sure do have alot of great movies to look forward to watching someday if you ever get around to it.

As for this group, full of quality again. The cream of the crop for me though are Alien and Heat. The greatest sci-fi/horror and greatest sort of epic-action/thrillers ive ever seen.

Sadly though i suspect that one or both will miss out as is the common theme in these polls so far for the quality to miss out over the mainstream.

Not that Kill Bill isnt a good movie, its bloody awesome and unique entertainment, but i cant go past Alien and Heat .

Kill Bill easily imo, a master piece, whilst the others have a case i simply cannot put them above Kill Bill.

very tough group... alien, momento and kill bill are all very very good. haven't seen heat or hero.

kill bill gets my vote... primarily because i think Aliens was the superior movie of that franchise, not the original.

Not a bad summation, but then he didn't know it was going to be two movies until he was halfway through filming ...

i'm pretty sure the whole "Kill Bill" piece was written in one go. there's no reason why the first movie should have a better plot. In fact i'm pretty sure that it was mostly filmed at the same time too - only split into 2 movies because there was too much content and it went for too long to fit into a single film.

i could be wrong... but i'm pretty sure i've read this in multiple places including imdb. may have just been on the imdb forums.

Alien goes through in first, with Kill Bill a (perhaps) surprise winner over forum favourite, Heat.
