Seems to be alot of criticism of Birdy. Some think he played well yesterday, some reckon he had a poor game.

I'm a convert.
I saw what he can do.
he has the fitler step. What he isn't doing, is maintaining forward motion. He has to keep on pumping.
What the support has to do, is get in the right position for him. Which I believe is late & close.

He has alot of potential. I say give him another 6 games to prove he is truly worthy of being a permanent 5/8, otherwise let Russ have a crack at it.

Hoping Birdy has a cracker against the Dogs...

I think his a great talent. But I don't think he should be 5/8. Nor do I think he should knock Hilder out of lock. But I do think he could end up being a better lock than Hilder in a few years..

He had to commit to the team on improving his turnstile defense whcih slips in with fatigue.
He is too big & strong now for excuses in that department.

Bird is where Preston Campbell was at the start of 2002 - playing well below his weight. Preston is not an organisational halfback, and Bird is not a 5/8.

His best position is lock, but do we remove Hilder?

Hilder is just too good at lock and his work in 03 IMHO means he has earnt that position.

Hilder would fix the hooker problems.... Or he could move to the 2nd row.

I think he would be a better lock, I cant say I agree with hilder going to hooker but it would solve the mobility problem. #-o #-o #-o

An after thought, I think sullivan is in his ideal position coming on 20-25 minutes into each half and giving us that extra spark from dummyhalf.
Gibson would be my specialist hooker.
