Bought it today along with Green Day - American Idiot..

Bout 1/2 way through it now and I think its a mile better than New Detention.
The songs have way more depth. I don't know whether that is due to the lyrics having more emotional meaning or just the band had their heads screwed on tighter this time round.
It reminds me alot of late Shihad stuff...Especially "Enemy". The backing vocals, guitar and effects make it sound like a Shihad ripoff...Which aint a bad thing!

comparing it to recent shihad (pacifier) is not a great rap at all.

they have taken their music to the masses and sold out in an enormous way. triple m forever.

Guide to Better Living was a good album (albeit awful lyrics). it all went pretty awful after that.

Don't get me wrong it doesnt even compare to AGTBL, and I was comparing it to similar style songs found on the self titled Shihad album. Not Pacifier's latest release. I love the Spoon but yeah they have sold out big time. It was only a matter of time though...

hahaha, they've sold out?? I really couldnt care less if they have 'sold out' or not. I'm loving the new cd and the direction in which they have gone with it. While I liked New Detention, I actually thought that it was their weakest album, so to come back with this was a great effort.

Well I'm gonna put it this way. I like the new cd... and I reckon it smashes ND. Mainly because I thought ND was totally very ordinary. I like the variety they have on this new cd, and even though it's not totally rocky all the time... you can still hear the old grinners in there.

My faves would be Bleed You Dry, better Off Alone and Hold On Me

There are a couple of lines scattered through Bleed You Dry that remind me of Powderfingers Passenger. 'I dont care what they say, i dont care what they know' and there are slight variations to the wording of it throughout which sound like Passenger imo. Maybe I'm just going crazy.
The more I listen to this cd, the more I like it.

Ditto Melstar. I've listened to it a few times in the past 24 hours and its now my most played album for the week.

While I'm disappointed that it isnt a return to the AGTBL days, it's great to see the guys express just how musically talented they are. This album has a huge amount of depth and feeling. She's Leaving Tuesday and Replacements are also top songs :D

Enemy is still my favourite tho.

12/13 I think mate... it's in my car atm.

Is it just me, or is the chorus of "Bleed you dry" very VEERRRYYY Audioslave?

Still love it though :D

Matt, there's 12 on the new one. Havent found one I dont like yet, which is a surprise for me. Some of it seems to have gone a little more punk-ish than the harder stuff. Its quite a good mix.

miccle, you recovered ok from last night?

It's much better than New Detention, but not as good as there first 2 albums. "Hold on me" and "Kiss it" are probably my fav songs.

The verse riff is VERY RATM I thought. Yup I can hear some Passenger in there Melstar! Enemy is still my favourite :D It's very Shihad'ish IMO. The same melodic guitar riff being used throughout all the verses and intro, the backing vocals during the verses and just the all round structure and sound of the song. Great stuff :D Oh yeah it has a solid solo in it as well. Which is a nice change from Pat ;-)
