The Paramount Shirts Newtown Jets jersey.

Twas a birthday present from my sister. I now have the old bluebag one, the last 4 A grade jerseys, the paramount shirt and in a couple of weeks time when i get the call up to premier league I'll hang on to that jersey to complete the collection

Its a f**king sweet jersey peoples. Go and buy one if you havent already.

I want to know if you can get a Newtown Jets jersey without the paramount shirt's sponsorship ??
They weren't sponsored back when I was there ('77,'78), but I'd like to replace the one I had which decided it wanted to live at someone else's home.

I've been after a vee neck Jets jersey for ages, but they are as rare as rocking horse sh*t. Any year, any sponsor as long as it's a vee neck Jets jersey in a large or XL... PM me if you've got one that you don't want any more.
As for a sponsor-less Jets jersey, the best you could hope for is getting one from the club that doesn't have the sponsor, but it'll have the VB PL badge and the "N" badge, I'm guessing that you'll be wanting the Jets jersey with just the "Jets" badge?
Goodfellows in St Peters used to make their own Jets jerseys with no sponsors but they used to sew on the three stripes on the sleeves and that made the jerseys look stupid, as the sleeves almost looked striped. Plus the club didn't recieve any money for the sale of these jerseys.

The JETS Paramount Shirt is Classic's top selling Retro Jersey apparently. Whats always quizzed me though is why out of all the Retro ones they do they left the Classic logo off the right breast?

I had that for a while then I surprised even myself with a more stunning than usual performance on Sunday.

First coming onto the field ten minutes in for an injured winger I ensured that the defensive line organised itself on the right hand side and that the general talk lifted. I'm a big believer in talk (hard to believe I know) and by talking to your mates and calling them up you improve your line speed.

Shortly after half time I was called into the engine room to take over duties as a second rower. My marker defence was brilliant as usual, with consecutive tackles from BTJ being a feature of each set. I took some bruising runs into the heart of the pack, and copped a shot in the balls for my trouble. In true BTJ fashion I played the ball quickly and then limped to the side to look after myself.

The team comes first.

With ten to go and the game decided the coach saw fit to put me in cotton wool, however an injury to our fullback meant that no sooner had I reached the sideline was I being ordered back out. This was to pay dividends as the JEts defensive line saw organisation and our attack benefited from me slotting in at various places across the line creating doubt and indecision in the minds of defenders.

So at the end of the day belief was bolstered. A game was played.

Rugby League was the real winner.

I can tell you the La Par score was well in excess of 50. Thats just the usually watering down of results that the souths comp sees fit for its website. They rather that than an evenly matched competition.

Souths juniors is a joke.

They let teams blatantly break rules about transfering players, paying players and players playing in different grades and then carry on like they are the greatest.

I'm proud to say Newtown is one of the few clubs which plays by the rules and although it may see us get whomped by 50 every week at least we are playing fair.
