From what I’ve seen the mongrel mob thing is a pretty massive beat-up. A journo I know and trust (Russell Brown) wrote in some detail as to why. It’s not a case of the government tipping money into gang coffers the way some people are making out, rather then finding a charity that’s run by ex-mob people. Spoke with her last night, she finally has an appointment in next 2 weeks. So she is going to beat me by about 2 weeks!

I got a heads-up from a customer at work that a small delivery of Pfizer will arrive in the Blue Mountains this week.

I went in person to the local medical centre (as I've done weekly for the past month) this morning and she asked me a few questions - age, a previous patient here (i.e. local resident) - and when I told her I work in a local supermarket she booked me and the mrs in this Friday.

She added 'there's only a few appointments available' and it was a case of first in, first served.

When the PM said the vaccine rollout was 'not a race' I believe that was classic double-speak.

He might well be, but geez he has become an annoying commentator - or at least the novelty of his over-exuberance and exaggeration has wore f**king thin. I can barely tolerate hearing him.

They aren't bought.

Most involved in mainstream NZ media are intrinsically left leaning. And most aren't particularly good journalists nor are their employers demanding quality. Been that way for a long time.

That's bollocks. The NZH was basically an arm of the National Party when they were in power. Plus the righty opinion makers get lots of airtime/print time. Almost all talkback radio is right leaning.
