Gym

I've been going to a gym for nearly 3 years after never having been into one in my previous 20+ years of life. I go 2,3,4 times a week for about an hour. I try to mix it up a bit, cardio and weights. I'm not looking to get huge, just lose a bit of weight and keep fit(ter).

Every 6months or so, on average, I'll have a slacking off period of a few weeks where I don't go, or go very little. Work gets in the way or whatever, but I just use excuses.

What I wanna know is if anyone has a home gym workout station, and are they any good?
I would still go to the gym but would maybe use a home gym if I don't feel like heading to the gym, just to get some excercise for the day.

Home gyms are excellent for weight training if you're not a huge bloke, and the real beauty of them is that they cost about as much as a year or two of gym membership and are far more convenient.

You can pick them up really cheap on eBay, with a squat thing and dip station. Dad got one for 250.

I'd wait til after new years resolution season though.

I predict that a certain (very masculine) female poster will be working on an essay to post in here as I type this. I'll give you a hint... Her user name rhymes with stiff ganger.

I have been home gyming for about 4 months now. All i use (and need) is dumbells and a bench and have made pretty solid gains (im a fairly skinny bloke). There are so many exercises you can do by just using dumbells. Shoulders, chest, arms, legs, the whole lot. You don't need those fancy as machines that cost heaps. Just find a routine/program for different dumbell exercises (if you want i can link my one) and stick to it. Also i suggest very short rests because exercises so you push yourself. Pushing yourself is the key and that is how you will get results. Also eat right.

Bought a home gym with two bars, two dumbells, and plenty of weights for 1200rmb (around $200) not long ago. Looking forward to getting some use out of it now that I've got it set up and have been given a regime to run through.
