Soon as every club gets rid of the rumour mongers who dont use their real names, the better the game will be.

People without "the fortitude to put their name, address and telephone number to a scurrilous rumour, well youre lacking in courage"

Speaking particularly about people posting rumours about St George Illawarra being in turmoil (which they clearly are)

Hadley seems to think he has a monopoly on gossip and innuendo

And that forums should be dismantled regardless of the fact they are a fantastic grass roots resource of support for the game

Has this guy lost the plot or what?

For the record, Nathan Brown attributed the rumour mongering to journalists (whose job it is to stir shit), and not fans who use internet forums because they love the game

"The most disappointing thing for us this week was the media in Sydney saying all bad things about Trent, people making up rumours about him, that he's been doing this and me and him did that," Brown said

Anyone who expresses an opinion but isnt paid for it should be done away with I suppose?

It would be censorship to get rid of internet forums, whatever happened to freedom of speech? If you couldnt post that sort of thing on the internet, you'd still talk about it via IM, email, phone, and in person. It's a ridiculous proposition what Hadley is suggesting.

For the record too we all know how keen Willow etc are to make sure that unsubstantiated rumours dont remain on the site.

Hadley is an OK caller, but a fair dinkum control freak. He needs someone to deflate his ego somewhat. Shutting down internet forums? That's a sick joke.

What's rumours about the Dragons got to do with Ray Hadley? Talk about taking on someone else's fight, Hadley has lost the plot, he's a wannabe Alan Jones...he just doesnt have any clout. I must admit though he's not doing too bad for someone who based his whole "Ray Hadley morning show" on the John Laws morning show.

For the people who use forums for entertainment, like msot of us, Hadley is a dangerous egocentric.
Preparation for what is inevitable should be paramount.
Everytime a scandal surfaces, he tries to lay blame on chat rooms.
But you can rest assured that the slime is here trolling for gossip himself.

And I dont see the difference between someone using a "net name" to post a rumour to Hadley spreading rumours without naming his source, as he often does, by using seemingly innocuous phrases like "I've been hearing out of the club that..." or "The whispers are..."

On here it's pretty easy to differentiate between the people who are posting something they've legitimately heard and someone who is making it up. I dont see what Hadley gains from shutting down internet chat rooms. It would just inspire hate against him.

Pretty simple SS, it is a form of competition for him and he doesn't like competition.

This is an alternate source of info for people. Quite often his big stories are stuff that the people in here are allready all over.
