Great signing and he will take us to the Grand Final.

He is the only coach to have NRL coaching experiance prior to coming here except for John Monie.

He knows about off seaons, sports science, etc

Knows about how the interchange works, players strengths and weaknesses

32796000% better than dunce mclennon

he will get the best outta mateo locke etc

only thing that worries me is that he lets the players have to much power

For most of those reasons I thought the Director's role would suit him.

I'm still a little shocked by the appointment, but good luck to him. He needs to ensure he's the boss though.

They have millions to spend and only got the likes of Purtell, Brad tighe etc

The only saving face thing to say for me is everyone has ruled us out before giving it a shot including myself. We usually do ok or better than expected in these circumstances. ie. Like the Cleary appointment.

I have let it all out now and I feel good.

Welcome Mathew please turn us around and in return we will give you your first NRL title too.

Good Luck

Are you on board or not? Exit that way

mate of rugby league fan first and foremost...not a warriors fan
I was here before them...like many fans.

That said I wish nothing but the best for the club and team

However like I said Scurrah will be on thin ice ...this has been a circus

More importantly I am worried about the other areas of thE club that need addressing

Also interested in who they bring in? especially if iro walks

Surely Iro won't walk, where would he go? No other team would pick him up as a first grade coach in the NRL, he'd have to go to SL but that doesn't seem to mean anything these days. You're better off being an assistant at a successful club.

Elliott is a little underwhelming after the hype... but he did pretty well with Canberra, Penrith not so much - but people seem to speak highly of him...

As above, if the players don't get on board, he needs to power to cut them lose, and I guess we as fans might have to live with some troubling decisions for the greater good... there is plenty of talent there, if it's not focused and fit it's not useful

based on the coach, or the apparent attitude of some players?

Both

I'm not sold on Elliot as a coach I don't believe he's hard nosed and the only thing he's experienced in is getting sacked. The Players could very well dictate whether he will see out his full contract.

Welcome to LU Waipiro, I read somewhere that Robbie Paul was being mooted as an assistant coach as well.

Interesting if this is the case, as Robbie is one of the most successful overseas Kiwis that I can recall. Maybe as a way to placate some of the younger players perhaps.

Be interesting how he uses wiki given their time together at Canberra. Got the impression Cleary used him well to work on fitness and mentor some of the young guys...that definately seemed to change under mclennan

Fully agree on all counts.

I would not have appointed him, then again I wasn't behind closed doors. The bloke approached the Warriors, not the other way around as most candidates had been, and presented a vision they found very appealing. He sounds genuinely passionate about this.

As for the players who may or may not be leading a revolt, whomever those players are, show them the door. After this seasons performance they don't have the right to make an issue out of things.

Listening to Elliott speak today, I must admit I was impressed with the absolute passion he brings to the job. I hope it works out, I really do. I've never been a fan of the chap, but the entire club need to get in and support him. Thankfully I heard him say "there will be changes", lets never ever adapt Duncey strategies again.

Yep, that's where I am as well.
