Halatau is really starting to look like he will be a class act in the future - he's already halfway there. Just wondering where he came to the tigers from? I know he born in NZ, but from what age did he play for Balmain, and where was he before that?

Not "starting" - it is just some of you people who are finally realising that Balmain boy!!!!

He has had class stamped all over him for the past 4 years!

He's been here since before the age of 10 FYI!

No actually over the last 3-4 matches he has proved he is well and truly of first grade standard, and that he will be a fine player. Players can show class in PL, Ball etc all they want. Doesn't mean they are going to be class in first grade.

Maybe you should get off your soapbox, and stop being so condescending. It's f**king tiresome.

I think a better question is how does anyone NOT slip through their trap?

Started with Wenty Magpies, Played for the Merrylands Rams (who i played against, not knowing who he was or who'd he become), then moved over to the Ryde area to play Juniors as im assuming that's when Balmain-Wests Tigers put him on the development program.

I rememeber the Sharks game last year and I'd only seen a little of him at that time, and I told my son this new bloke is supposed to be pretty good, he went on to smash the Sharks, going over for a couple of tries I think as well. My son looked at me as if to say "geez you were right"..LOL  Onya Deno.

yes and no

The year he made his first grade debut was also his first year as a full-time PL player - it only took a few games into the season before it was obvious he was too good to stay there and he got his call-up.

But the year before when he was in Jersey flegg he played a fair bit of PL - filling in where needed anywhere from fullback to lock. Anyone who saw him then would have known just how good he was/was going to be.

He did start at wenty and merrylands in parra juniors but switched to Balmain juniors very young - too young to really be able to laugh at parra for 'letting him slip away' (although I'm glad to do so ;-) )

I've actually been thinking if he continues the way he's going he may end up a bolter for the kiwi train-on squad for the tri-series. I don't think he'd actually be selected for the side itself but with the warriors playing so badly and Dene so versatile (and eligible for both countries) they could very well decide to lay claim on him by adding him to the prelim side.

I dont think your too far off there snide, he could well bolt into contention for the kiwis later this year. He's a consistant performer and already a lot higher profile people in the game have already taken notice of him, he certainly doesnt go without mention most weeks.

I just love the way he hits the line, always looks like he can break a tackle, One we MUSt hold onto.
