handling

bloody hell we like to make it hard for ourselves. we're playing much better but again we saw what happens when we don't control the pill.

come on stuey, you've sorted out the discipline problem A1, time to get to some serious work on the ongoing handling problems.

we've got away with it (just!) against manly, melbourne, etc but the chooks showed what a top team will do to us when we don't respect the ball when we've got it.

i'm wondering if it's to do with a lack of fitness. tired players lose concentration and that's when the mistakes start flying thick and fast.

methinks next years pre-season needs to be a tad more demanding than 4 quarters against ulladulla's finest ! (watch this space to see me moaning when we lose kimmorley and stevens for the year injured in next years trials v brisbane  )

Don't worry about handling, fix the bloody tackling up. That is our biggest problem and has been for too long.

Mcsharkie has it closer to the mark Blackie.

Our handling is what got us loads of tries ! great offloading and hands yesterday, yes a few stuff ups late, but generally good hands and fast hands that saw some exciting attack.

As mcsharkie says, our on line defence is the problem, not to mention goal kicking, AGAIN, that could have cost us another 2 pts.

well you can't argue with the stats (unless, you're gus gould / chris anderson / just plain stoopid  )

sharsk lead the nrl in missed tackle so i ain't gonna argue with that ;-)

must say i do seem to remember us defending quite solidly on our line for repeat sets at several stages at brooky. i'd say it's tight around the ruck and wide out along the 3/4 line where we seem to have defensive problems.

still, dropped balls means more tackles, more pressure on a suspect defence, more defensive problems.

Both areas need improvement, but the missed tackes are the biggest worry. That said, it's a good sign if we're winning games with more improvement to come

yeah, defence is the big issue.
I thought they were good at times. but they need to be good all the time.

IMHO is a positional problem not a fitness or mental problem.
The first 20 minutes will be fine, then stuff occurs and the points against start to flow.
Against Souths this will not be to apparent, but it will the following week.

Can anyone track the score after 20 mins for this season?

I can track the last 20 minutes in both games against manly. Crappola

I remember the days in late 90's/early2000s when we used to go up a knotch in the last 20 minutes. You could virtually look at the clock and watch them fire up - pretty awesome they were those days.
