Its 6:45 and no-one has posted this YET!
Bill Harrigan today announced his retirement today
One of ,if not,the best ref to ever blow the whistle
Stood up to Tallis in SOO and saw threw Parras Tactics 2?years ago and sent 4 to the bin.
Had the testicular fortitude to stand up on both decisions

134 days of partying for the Panthers and then....and then.....and then!
JOEYS BACK
Come on Chooks....Catch up with the news!

I must admit, Harrigan was a mile in front of a lot of refs. I only found out about his decsion this morning. In My opnion it was obvious he was going to retire when his book was released. Now it will be a best seller and will earn him more money off the field than he could have got on the field.

he is also going to be a "must" for advertisement agencies.

I think he made the right decision.

I wonder if he received another death threat before this year's g/f. I don't think so.

IMO his retirement has left a bludddy big hole to be filled..

I agree with everything you said Ozzie ( I can't believe I just posted that )
Except....I think he may have retired a couple of years too early.

He must have a fairly attractive offer from the media to throw it away. The top refs make pretty good dollars these days.

Geeze, I'm really out of touch. Who the hell's going to replace him? A GF with Mr Bean or worse, that Clark fella. :?

Must've been a good offer.

Yeah it is a shame I was actually in a lift with the guy a couple of weeks before last years Grand Final and was chatting away to his little one and didn't even realise it was Harrigan until he started walking towards Aussie Stadium....going to watch the Newcastle V Roosters final last year. (I don't suppose he was doing stuff like that this year after those stupid death threats)

He was a really great guy very grounded and it was good to see the other side of him.

I actually think he was a great Ref but I do believe it is time for him to give the game away......

I saw him on a show the day after the Grand Final and just as he was about to Launch the book and I knew then that he was going to retire you could tell.

Anyways thinks Bill.........Good Luck.

A 'cop out' from an ex-cop.

Why give something away that you are still capable of doing well?

Pretty boy Bill just wants to get his face closer to the camera.
