Harrigan's message to Souths fan

The article on the back of todays Tele is an absolute joke!!!

Bill Harrigan rips into this poor South Sydney fan for reasons I see are completely unjustified.

Bill claims "Look at this bloke in the brown jacket. Who does he think he is? He's paid his money and is entitled to yell all he wants from his seat. But it is a disgrace to see him leaning over the rail, finger pointing, frothing at the mouth and verbally abusing the referee. He should be ashamed of himself."

Bill himself, through Dean Ritchie, has used the biggest selling paper in Sydney to vent his feelings yet he does not approve of a souths fan simply leaving his seat to show his emotions.

And to use the little throwaway comment "Foaming at the mouth" as a blatant insult to this guy........once again, Harrigan is a tool who still wants to make headlines.

God please forgive me, but I will side with Harrigan on this one.

I think its a disgrace that fans think they can get so abusive and physically throw stuff at referees....I think the AFL has seen alot of this in recent years and I think its a complete and utter joke.....fine, get pissed off - yell and scream, but people are starting to go too far.

It signals out this ONE guy, who wasn't the one who threw anything anyway. Thats what I didn't like about the article.

If it was about fans in general throwing stuff at referees, then for sure thats unacceptable. Bill signalled out ONE guy and thats not right.

I'm not siding with anyone on this one actually because it is a typical Telegraph crappy beatup.

"Hey fella's - we don't have a back page sports headline tomorrow. What should we do? Why dosen't someone ring Bill Harrigan and email THAT photo. He'll give us a quote worthy of notoriety."

Crappiest story of the year.
Even by the Telegraphs standards, it was low.
For a start there are 20-30 people there. Why was this guy singled out??

You will no doubt be making plenty more appearances on "Media Watch" on the ABC.
