We will need to have a strong squad as I think we will be losing a few at origin time Tuquiri Lawrence possibly Gallaway ,Heighington Farah The younger guys will need to step up when they are needed sheens is good as slowly blooding younger players

Origin time.....

we play the panthers before origin 1 and the spine of the side should be relatively the same mckinnon/moltzen/mallany in 1 benji in 6, lui in 7 and subsititute 9. Seriously dont think the panthers have enough to worry us, and remember, petro will be out as well

origin 2
again the spine should be the same, but before this origin we play the warriors away...will be a tough game, but with the spine of the side relatively the same and Ellis, Payton, Fifita and the like we should have enough to get over the top of them

origin 3, we have the bye

Origin time........whats the hassle?

Nope its good but, there is one huge proviso- Sheens has to be going in the right direction too. His record is not remarkable- since the 05 premiership, 2010 good, 2006- 09 slipshod.

Yep, our 2006-2009 record is crap, as was the form of some our players. This thread was started in 2011 though.
One referee decison off a grand final appearance last year but apparently the coach has the club over a barrel!

This is just a thread purely designed to heap crap on Sheens before the season has even started. Nothing more.

No the coach doesn't have the club over a barrel....but he has secured so influentual players for 2012 and beyond.

Sounds to me like a legacy

i don't think it's a hassle either All I'm saying we need a strong squad to cover for ANY issues that may occur throughout year Also stated that Sheens is good at bringing the young talent through So there is not any hassles

I see a lot of people commenting from 2006 -2009 The game changed so much just from 2005 to 2006 with dominant tackles Sides that were effective in 05 with the speed of game needing more mobility and lack of size changed to control of ruck\wrestle and we struggled with that without size Also we were hammered with injuries in those years and lost players the calibre of Prince , Richards, Laffranchi . I'm not making excuses for coaching staff but if players are not available on market(or overpriced ) to develop the side you need to be competitive , you got to learn to adapt players you have(which we have done ) . Other issue is we massively overachieved in 2005 . As crazy as this sounds winning the premiership may have done more harm than good as youngsters weren't ready for it .

Sheens could have bought more decent props during that time period though, but instead he used players like Danny Galea and Bronson Harrison in the front-row when they are second rowers! We did very well last year and in 2005 but he also has to take some responsibilty for the poor years 2006-2009. John Morris in the halves for 2.5 years wasn't a good idea either! ](*,)
