PRESS RELEASE

In a statement relased late this evening, the board of the Bulldogs announced that the services of NRL coach Des Hasler will no longer be required.

"It was a difficult decision, Des has been an integral part of the club.' said a spokesperson.

" He led us to grand finals and numerous finals appearances"

"Des has been a committed servant of the club and will be sorely missed"

It is believed that coach Hasler's downfall can be traced back to the poor showing of the NRL side over the last four weeks of 2016 season including a match where they were savaged by a lacklustre and struggling South Sydney.

It is rumoured that the pay-out of his contract ( set to expire at the end of 2017) will set the club back somewhere in the vicinity of $300,000.00 although we understand a settlement is pending.

It is thought that the club are interested in Iuring former Kangaroo coach Tim Sheens away from his current position in the English Super League.

As a free agent, Hasler is expected to be hot property in the 2017 NRL coaching market with clubs such as the West Tigers and St George Illawarra expected to express an early interest in his availability.

Mr Hasler could not be reached for comment.

There were rumours of conflict between Hasler and the dogs board for quite some time, I wonder why the likes of Weidler and Proszenko didn't get onto it instead of pursuing Souths all season?

Hasler is an awesome coach the bulldogs are silly to let him go he has one of the best records with finals footy that I've ever seen and you can't just sit there and say that's because of the rosters. You don't consistently make the finals every year without skillful coaching. Great finding for whichever club picks him up. Another bulldogs mistake. I also think they're number 7 Moses Mbye had a clause in his contract relating to Des Hasler. Same one as Foran with brad arthur where he can opt out of Hasler leaves? Correct me if I'm wrong

God, whoever writes these articles are the biggest tossers. South Sydney were hitting form they were capable of at at the end of the season, the bulldogs had just hit a wall it happens in footy I remember they demolished us in the earlier part of the season. People are so quick to blame coaches these days it's ridiculous, the bulldogs players were just outplayed. In fact near the end of the season Souths would've troubled more teams than just the bulldogs in the finals.

Sorry lads, just me mucking around.

I borrowed some lines from Toovey's sacking from the telegraph a few years ago, thought about a novelty replacement and then a little wink to Robbie by implying Jason Taylor would be struggling next year.

I was thinking about a comment from Hasler, but he is way too cool for school.

People who know him, speak highly of him and someone once told me he has about three uni degrees or something.

He should be gone by Friday, there could be a big row over his severence pay.

Bulldogs are a rabble atm.
A rabble is good.

Hopefully they keep having disruptions which will effect them next season.

The Bunnies will soar again Southsport. We have it in us.
