I was wondering about this today. He got snubbed by the PMXIII so he might play in the Fiji v Samoa test this year?

Can he play origin next year if he chooses Feej? I'd say that would be on his mind

That is, if there is any rational thought in there.

Good news given we've lost Semi and Marika.
Hopefully Suli and Blake continue their progression and Sutton pulls his finger out.
Still the halves will leave a hole but a possible Hayne/Sutton/Koroisau combination could be competitive.
Forwards look ok with Saifiti's, Sim's, Bukuya, Gillard and Evans along with a couple new faces could maybe challenge the big guns. Hopefully

but Semi cannot play Origin, go figure

Hayne couldn't get a gig for Australia so he found another spot light to shine on himself

Semi cannot play Origin because of the Origin rule changes that were made in the last couple of years regarding the state you played the majority of junior rugby league, majority of your schooling, junior rep rugby league etc. As Semi didn't arrive in NSW until he was 19 or 20 he is not eligible. Semi can play for Australia under the residency rules.

Hayne was born and bred in NSW and can represent Fiji because of his Fijian father. Although I am not sure if he does play for Fiji in next year's RLWC does that make him ineligible for NSW in 2018.

No it won't..the fact australians can now play for another nation if they miss out on kanagroos selection kinda renders australian eligibilty for origin null & void...

Thankfully

Maurice Kennedy is going well at the Mounties and would be an interesting pairing with Api in the halves
