There was a joke? :)

You know what they say about jokes that people have to explain?

P.S I did get your play on words it's just that I have had a Gutful of people making fun of my name.

I just haven't seen you post much, so took the free swing that was presented.

Suitman made me do it. He knows who you really are.

Thanks for your input. It was an opinion, you don't have to agree with it.

Heaven forbid Hayne be critised.

Criticism`s okay, but can we at least make it factual? '...he demands to play fullback because he doesn`t want to defend....' Where did you get that from? Have you seen some of the try-saving tackles that guy has made? Doesn`t want to defend? Hmmm. You mean prefers to play fullback. Doesn`t really want to play five-eight or centre or wing or lock. Ask Brett Stuart if he wants to play five-eight or lock. Ask Billy Slater. Ask Dugan. Mate, it`s just an opinion, but I think Jarryd Hayne has got more class and more leadership in him than any other player we`ve got, and most other players in the NRL. You watch him next year. Under a decent coach, he`ll go so well that no one will be criticising him about anything.

What a shit thread. So I guess people on here hang out with Hayne and know him really well to make these judgements.

The attitude statement regarding hayne is the biggest load of BS I have ever heard.

It's been a continious statement and on going argument whether Hayne's heart and passion is in for rugby league.

People make these stupid comments never meeting the bloke and go on what people have heard.

The people making these judgements go on all the evidence available, which includes hearsay among other things (his public comments, on-field behaviour, etc).

I think there is plenty of evidence pointing to him having a shit attitude, but I also think it's far from conclusive either way.

That said, even people that know him aren't necessarily going to have sound judgement. Someone like Jarryd Hayne is likely to find himself surrounded by haters and hero worshippers - two classes of people whose judgement is considerably impaired.

I just spoke to Jarryd and he said he doesn't agree with you :sarcasm:

Seriously though, why do people have to have spoken to him to have formed an opinion? There are plenty of other sources of info available for people to review and form a view. Plus he has played 140 games for Parra which we have all watched. His attitude to his team mates and sportsmanship is on display for all to see in these games.

If speaking to the player was a prerequisite for every piece of commentary then we might as well shut the forum down now.

Like whats already been said, you don't need to know someone personally to form an opinion about their attitude. A lot can be gathered from observing a persons actions and behaviour. Not many know Inu but assume he has a poor attitude because of his actions on the field.

Its my opinion that Hayne has had a poor attitude the last couple of years. This could be down to injuries and playing in a well beaten team most weekends. One would hope that these are the moments when a true leader would stand up though.

Don't you? Because here's the thing that puzzles me: we have all seen his actions, and we have all heard his words. And yet we have all formed different opinions about Jarryd and his apparent poor attitude. I, for one, don't think he has a poor attitude at all - I just think he doesn't mince words and says what is in his head. That's both a good thing and a bad thing.

In my opinion, this idea that Jarryd Hayne has a poor attitude stems from wanting to see our best player be more like Nathan Hindmarsh or Nathan Cayless - that is, blokes who gave 100% every week and made it obvious that they were giving 100%. But I truly believe that Jarryd Hayne loves this club and every time he laces up the boots, he gives us 100% - he just mightn't show it as outwardly as others. But does that then mean that he isn't putting in? I think not.
