That's actually an interesting point. They don't really want The Plane to take up the option for next year as they don't really need him costing $1.2 million. How much would they pay of his contract to get him off their books? Half??

Hayne would be crazy not to take up his option, Titans were stupid guaranteeing the f**ker so much money.

If the Titans are shopping him this early, then surely even at half freight other NRL clubs would be wary of taking the plodder onto their books. If a disinterested Hayne really wants out from league, French Rugby is pretty much the only option he has left.

I'll guarantee you that if he takes up the Titans option and the Titan's want to offload him and will pay half freight, there would be alot of NRL clubs interested in The Plane for $400k - $600k per season.

Agree, but Hayne would want his $1m for season 2 & 3.

I reckon The Plane is the type of player that would be happy with getting $1.2 million in 2018 and then worry about the following years later.

I dare say he initially only intended on playing with the Gold Coast for a 5-9 game appearance and would try and sort out a replacement club for this season later.
