Well I don't know what to make of that at all...

It could either mean - Nope, you're not surprised both are/were still on the gold coast becasue your mail is they are both about to take up offers with the Titans after being part of a player swap for Hayne...

Or - Nope you're not surprised they are/were still on the gold coast because your mail is they were given extra time off to be with family in QLD....

Throw me a bone MJC! My inbox is always open....much like Gus Gould's back door according to hindy111...

Gower is heading to Hong Kong Disneyland and as has been mentioned a few other players are on an extended break as well.

JARRYD Hayne has told his Titans teammates he will not be walking out on the Gold Coast.

The Titans hit the training paddock on Thursday morning for their first fitness session of the 2018 pre-season under new coach Garth Brennan.

Hayne has been linked with a move back to Parramatta, mostly for family reasons, and is currently on World Cup duty with Fiji.

Hayne has publicly denied he wants to quit the Titans and told his teammates in a group messaging chat he will be staying, according to forward Ryan James.

“We’re expecting him to come back,” he said.

“He said on the ‘WhatsApp’ (group chat) he hasn’t spoken to anyone (other clubs) yet.

“We’re expecting him back when he’s due back.

“He has kept in contact with all of us. He spoke to all of us and let us know.

“I’ve got no doubts (he wants to stay) from what he’s said to us so hopefully that happens.”

Hayne has not requested a release from the Titans, however the club is aware his young daughter is living in NSW.

Hayne had an uninspiring 2017 NRL campaign and was involved in a feud with former coach Neil Henry, who was sacked late in the season as the Titans languished near the bottom of the ladder.

Hayne has produced some moments of brilliance in the World Cup, albeit against poor opposition, and James said the Titans were banking on him being at his best in 2018.

“Jarryd is a big part of our team,” he said.

“When he is firing there are not many people that can stop him.

“He has been playing great for Fiji and looks like he’s having fun doing that as well.

“Hopefully he can bring that back into the squad early next year.”

Remember when Gus Gould and Matt Moylan said a month ago that he was going nowhere and would be a Panfer in 2018.....

Sometimes people just say things that others want to hear.... For example.. @Gronk - I really enjoy your incessant, denigrating re-tweets of everything Anti-Trump, Anti-Lib/Nat, Anti-Gun Lobby you see on the internet... Or, @Poupou Escobar - you were right all along about Stephen Kearney and Luke Kelly....

I know I was right all along. 42 games was too small a sample to judge a coach which is why he got another NRL job while other coaches didn’t. And Kelly was a backup which is why he was signed to another club as a backup after leaving Parra.

You know, it would make a whole lot more sense if Hayne put in a really good year at the Titans and then approached Parramatta for a return. If he really wants to come back to us, then show us he's still got something to offer. It would also give Bartman twelve months to make the change to Wanderers supporter (buy the red and black socks, study the game a bit, sell his Parra supporter's gear, etc).
