The Titans and NRL deserve everything they get, he was keen to come back to Parra and all we heard was that the NRL would like to speak to his manager other those dodgy payments and he could be stripped of his accreditation.

Nek Minnit he was a Titan and it was a win for RL and the Titans.

Nothing at all was mentioned about Beavis or the supposed dodgy payments ever again.
From the first press conference you could tell he didn’t want to be there and it was going to end in tears.

how is he a mercenary if he only had one offer and he took it, what other choice did he have, unemployment ?

he called out the Eels for not making an offer yet we reported in the media that we made the offer to his agent and we were told verbatim "to sharpen our pencil"

Hayne was not aware of our offer till the next day but the Tits put a clock on the offer. He really had no other option.

but yeh, hr's a mercenary
I firmly believe he could have played for us if he wanted but as you say told us to go and "sharpen our pencil" because he wanted more money. We were definitely interested and were completely caught off guard by what he did with the Gold Coast.

Any "Boo-hoo, Hayne had no other option" narrative is a bit fanciful mine. Its what Hayne wants everyone to believe.

Or perhaps his manager said lets just go and see what the Titans have too offer. Then we will get back to the eels.
He gets there, they say 1.2 mill but has to be done today or we pulling it. He ring manager who then rings parra and say this is the offer you have 4 hours to up yours.
Parra decide they arent playing this game having a gun pointed at head so stay out of it.I mean 2016 we still had salary cap issues.
4 hrs pass, manager says we havent heard anything and in the heat of moment he signs without thinking it through. News breaks, Parra management bungle Hayne deal. Couldnt get an offer to him in time.

This makes sense to me. It come out of know where. Happend so fast. Titans got what they deserved. He fleeced them.

Possibly.

Makes you question if he really did want to play for the eels, doesn't it?

Didn't Arthur repeatedly say words to the effect of "we are kind of interested but we have good players at fullback". We just didn't want him much.

Welcome back Jarryd. Things just haven't been the same since you left.

For starters we've had a balanced squad, and were actually looking competitive for the first time since... well since we had to accommodate your elite post-2009 salary.

If you come back we'd better not lose any players in our current first choice 17. And we'd better not release a forward, because we need them more than we need past glories cramping the styles of our developing halves combo of Norman and Moses.

But we've announced our sponsor... and any TPAs that Hayne attracts go straight in his own pocket.

Does anyone seriously know of people that stopped supporting the Eels just because Hayne shot through? It's all a myth, our memberships are the highest they've ever been without the guy.

We should pull the rumoured offer as soon as he seeks a release from Titans imo, and leave the serial contract dodger in no mans land.

You have been confident that he's never coming back and headed to overseas rugby to chase big coin. Surely you are still confident...
