Btw Sometimes id prefer a pie and sauce over anyhting. It may not be gourmet but it tastes good. And that is all that counts.
Agreed. A well made pie can be a taste sensation... Drove to Melbourne earlier this year, stopped at a place about 80km's out of Melbourne for a snack and stumbled upon this shop that had some f**king great pies on offer.... If I'm ever in the neighbourhood again I'll be sure to go back....

I'll spell it out for you.

I don't want him to come.

If he does though he becomes a Parra player.

I am a Parra fan.

Unlike some whingy merkins on here I support all Parra players.

I don't want him back because I don't believe that he will have a dig like his team mates.

Buy hey, if they sign him then I will treat him no different than I did in 2006/7/8/9/10/11/12/13/14. I will cheer him on when he does good stuff and yell at him when he is jogging kick returns back.

I am as passionate as the Eels as a lot of you and i live and breath them to my own detriment and my mood is directly dictated to their win/loss record but FMD i cannot believe how some carry on about the signing of a player.

There is absolutely nothing you can do about a player being signed or let go so why carry on? Sure mention that you don't think it is a good idea and you have a 50/50 chance of saying i told you so at the end but why get yourself so upset over it?

I personally trust BA and whatever he decides i'm ok with.

Well said.
I'm hearing fans talk about handing back their memberships if we sign Hayne. I couldn't think of anything more ridiculous. It's not like he's a thug who bashes women or kids or anything.

I f**king hated Chris Sandow when he was at Souths. Was in my top 3 most hated players at the time. Couldn't stand him.
Then we signed him.
I still hated him, but I cheered him when he did something good on the field (which was rare) and never stopped supporting the team.

We could sign Harvey Weinstein or Charles Manson and I would still support the team.

Great memories. The guy's laziness at fullback was never truly captured on tv.

Hayne wasn’t lazy (at least not on the field), he just never had the work rate that is preferred in a spine player. Explosive, low endurance types need to play wing or centre, or in short stints in the middle.

The best are the ones who say they refuse to support Hayne but then say they'd rather stick with a bloke who kicked the shit out of his missus....

Subjective: lazy or low endurance. I say that it's a mental thing rather than a physical thing. You obviously disagree.

As someone who has run a few marathons, I can tell you that it's 70% mental and 30% physical. NRL players like Hayne (at his prime) are fit enough to run it back all day, but some can't or don't. I say it's upstairs that gives in.

Like 'Lay Down Sally". She did not have the intestinal fortitude to dig deep when it counted. As an elite Olympic games athlete, she was absolutely fit enough to finish the race like her team mates.

But you watched the games on tv, right?
Same as how I watch all the other fullbacks. I’m not saying Hayne’s involvement wasn’t too low, I’m saying the reason wasn’t laziness. It was a lack of endurance which is common to big power athletes. Nobody’s good at everything, but some weaknesses can be hidden better in different positions.

As for modern fullbacks, they add so much to the attack if they are able to remain heavily involved. In any given carry you would expect Hayne to do more than someone like Slater or Gutherson but the latter two are everywhere. It means they get far more opportunity to hit a gap or support a break, or even just make the ball carrier’s job easier by drawing defenders away. Meanwhile power backs like Hayne, Radradra or Rapana would still be sucking in the big ones from their last damaging run.
