Some info re. Hayne's defence:

"The Daily Mail obtained court documents with Hayne alleging that the woman consented to sexual activity and was "not injured at all." He has asked for the sexual battery suit to be dumped.

The 30-year-old also alleged in court documents filed on March 1 that the woman 'consented to all actions that took place, including all actions she now claims were non-consensual.'

He claimed that 'JV' followed him out of the bar after a night of drinking in December 2015 and even booked the Uber to take him back to his place.

He said 'JV' had a cordial conversation with his friend in his apartment the following morning and she left of her own volition and "did not report, show or claim any injuries to anyone after the alleged incident."

In her claim lodged in December last year, 'JV' claimed Hayne had taken her home from the bar despite the pair having 'minimal interaction' that night. She alleges that she passed out heavily intoxicated in the car and has no recollection of hos she ended up inside his place.

She awoke next morning naked next to a "pool of blood"in "significant vaginal pain" that she still suffers from today."

What I don't get Twiz is it is media outlets like 9 and the Telegraph that have the most to lose rehashing articles like this verbatim.
You'd think they'd be doing everything to promote the sport rather than bringing it down at every opportunity.
I just don't get why they keep shitting in their own beds.

Will the NRL always chase top dollar for TV rights or maybe think about who will promote the game better? Imagine making money by people actually turning up to the game rather than bending over to TV networks.

It's all clearly part of Gus' ambush plans

The NRL needs to get better at drowning the media with good news stories.
So for example we know that the media are going to release a bad news story (the worst they can muster) on the eve of the season kick off. Why isn't the NRL and/or clubs poised with a stock pile of about 20 (or 100) good news stories (e.g.: "Gould has Ebola" or something) that they just get drowned in for the week leading up.

We should have had a Hayne Helps Old Lady Across Street story yesterday for International Old Lady Day.

Do you really think this kind of thing hurts the bottom line? I reckon people are interested in the game for the villains as much as for the heroes.

Dunno, it's why I'll never be an accountant or a boss of anything.

But look back on the Hayne to NFL and back again story. The whole thing was a feel good story, and no those kind of stories don't come around often but when he returned, the Titans sell out for the first time in a long time. It wasn't as if anyone expected him to be a superman, but it was a feel good story that everyone got behind. For the longevity of the game, more good stories will bring fans back rather than constant bad ones. We all love a villain, just look at State of Origin, but the villains are made on the field and is all about football.

Part of the reason I was keen to watch last night was to see Matt Lodge get smashed. No surprise he 'earned' a penalty for getting shoulder charged on his first carry. I loved it, the Dragons fans loved it, and I reckon the Dragons players obviously thought it was well worth the penalty.

I think it hurts long term with the MILFs and the MIWNFs (I would not).
If we can get society back to where they don't count much then cool, but until then we should get on top of it.

The media outlets are more than just sport ... not everyone cares about league, parra or jarryd hayne ... and theres fans from15 other clubs who couldnt give a toss if hayne gets hammered by the media
