Maybe Haynes Manager could organise a TPA to cover an out of court settlement. Brydens, Shine or Malouf and Partners?

The special one is back. I wonder if he still has a case to answer or whether the matter has been ‘taken care of’.

Not really sure he has to return to Australia to answer an American lawsuit.

Pardon me for being sceptical about a media article but wouldn't he need to return to America for that. All he has really done is come home after his OS visit, but that wont sell chip wrappers unless they put their twist on it by rehashing quotes from before he left to go OS.

Nothing to see here.

If this shit keeps getting oxygen and has the club in the news for all the wrong reasons then I reckon there will be plenty to 'see here'.

Hayne and his manager need to sort it out ASAP.

it's not like a criminal case where the cops can summon him to appear and issue a warrant if he doesn't show up what would happen if he just refused to go?

He doesn't have to turn up to court. He doesn't have to co-operate at all, but it is in his interests to make a deposition for consideration by the court. Otherwise the jury will spend a lot of time hearing evidence from one side, and they don't need to be satisfied 'beyond reasonable doubt' to make an adverse finding.

It really depends on what the actual circumstances are and whether it even goes to jury (U.S. courts do love putting shit to jury though). Non-defence or dislike of a person doesn't necessarily mean you can rule against someone. Usually facts come first, so a written account for the court may be fine. IMO though we'll see out of court settlement

As far as I understand it there is no guarantee that a judgement against Hayne in a civil matter in the US is enforceable. ( we have no treaty with the US in that regard )

If he is innocent as he claims, why should he pay her out, defend himself and then worst comes to worst make them come here and try and enforce the judgement against him.
