The Australian batsmen - some woeful performances.

The Australian bowlers - weak as piss, some of them performances .

Ponting has done nothing to impress since his double century, Martyn is a twit. The allrounds (Clarke, Bevo and Harvey) all chipped in, but Bevo and Harvey should have fired up and built on that partnership.

It should not have come down to bowlers trying to win the game with the bat.

Let the Bevan bashing begin...

By the way Salmon that wasn't really a go at you, and I don't rekon Bevan should be bashed at all. Once more symmonds gets sent in in front of Bevan, in a situation like that it was always a stupid decision.

No worries.

I personally hate to bash Bevo, particularly after he recently scored a double ton for NSW. He is an excellent player, but I have expected more from him this series. I was hoping for another classic Australia win with Bevo just pulling us through. Unfortunately the boundaries didn't come, and of course no one really stuck with him for a good partnership .

Bevan played a good innings but could've done a lot more. Brett Lee was woefull with the ball and cost us the game once again.

It was our bowling attack that lost it for us. We didnt restrict them and we didnt strike hard.

You can't bat if you can't back it up with the ball and that is cleary what went wrong.

Fair enough we didn't bowl well, but apart from Hayden and to an extent Clarke, the Australian batting line-up should still have a dig.

IMO to get what we did as pathetic. Its as if to say oh well 304, thats too much.

Harvey needs to do better with the bat than he did if he is too have the all rounder spot (2nd one). At the moment he is just an inferior bowler who can bat a bit.

We just kicked arse in India losing only 1 game and we've only lost 1 game in this series and all of a sudden heads must roll :?

I'd hate to see how some people would react if we were in a slump and losng a lot.

Since the start of 2003 up to tonight we have won 33 games and lost 6. Before tonights loss we had won 9 games in a row.

Can someone tell me why we should panic?

Work needs to be done with regards to selection & tactics (Bowling) and even the fielding...Martyn should not be fielding at point with a dodgy finger...if they persist with him...put him out of harms way.

BECAUSE WE LOST! And the australian cricket supporting public don't understand it's not a big deal...

Bevan should have come in sooner.

But he was just protecting his average anyway.

Yeah, right.

There's no doubt India are playing very well, but Australia's one day form has been down quite a bit. Bevan showed glimpses of his old form last night, but Martyn and Lee must dropped ASAP and give other players a chance to shine.

Seeing as though the Indians have now won twice in our last nine games against them we should sack the whole team and start again!

The biggest problem is that we didn't have the bowlers that are able to contain an attack or make a big dent in it. Lee is out of sorts but goes for big runs most ODI's he plays so to say it was a one off isn't on. Williams can be a good bowler at times but needs the pitch to help him and IMO Gillespie also needs some time off to work on his form as well. Bichel is by far our best ODI bowler at present but more attention should be given to some of the young South Aust. bowlers who are doing a good job for them - Tait and Cleary in particular. Harvey is good at the death however even his slower bowling which should have helped stem the runs on a flat track were useless.

Gilly and Hayden have finally found some runs - Ponting deserves to be in the side on his fielding alone IMO but he needs to find some runs. Symonds and Clarke have been the mainstays in previous matches. Bevan is not in top form however started to run out of partners capable of helping him along (another reason for the inclusion of Bichel). Martyn needs a rest from ODI's so they can allow either Katich in or move Clarke up the order and employ another batting all rounder.
