In last week's RLW, the mole was saying that Craig Bellamy had contacted Chris Heighington, and relayed that he was being considered for State Of Origin this year.

If he has another solid year, it will certainly be a well deserved call up, and an asset for the blues to have players like Heighno in the team.

Good news methinks.

Thats great news and definitely well deserved if true! Heighno was a rock last year and I think he will only get better partnering up with Ellis in the second row. Ellis' experience and skill level is only going to push Heighno to a higher level with NSW call up in sight.
Last year he was playing more of a Hindmarsh role which effected the quality and execution of his hitups and tackles towards the end of the season through sheer fatigue. With Ellis there to help share the workload I think we can all look forward to Heighno excelling even more so this year then last which is exciting news for tigers fans!

Oh, and allow me to add that the current selectors' tactics of picking workman like players who actually struggle to tackle properly has us looking highly likely to set a new record - 4 straight losing origin series.

Like anything all we can ask and should expect that selection is based on form and performance. Because Heighington wears the Wests-Tigers strip should not preclude or include him in the side.

The big bugbear I 've had in past selections is form is not considered and PAST performance accepted- usual thing its harder to get out of a side than actually into it.

Lets see how he goes during the season and if his form warrants it then he should be selected- no more, no less.

Maybe Morris will get a shot too............. (aarrgghhh!!!!)
