squad one because of Jones and Lockyer and that forward pack will get the job done!

Which squad is stronger?

Squad 1:
1.Darren Lockyer (c) ... Deserves the term "great" on his past deeds, but is starting to wane
2.Marcus Bai ... who ? i hope you dont want someone who can tackle on your wing
3.Ryan Girdler (g/k) ... top player, no bullsh!t, just gets the job done
4.Willie Talau... couldnt make first grade at the Bulldogs
5.Nathan Blacklock ... dear lord, i hope you like people who cant tackle on your wings
6.Scott Hill ... too old, too slow, too stupid
7.Stacey Jones ... brilliant player, on his day can match it with anyone.

8.Mark O'Meley ... never gives up, i'd want him in my team too.
9.Richard Swain ... very slow dummy half, but he can tackle ... the downfall of the Broncos for season 2003 made flesh !!
10.Petero Civoniceva ... honest player, doesnt do anything special.
11.Ali Lauitiiti ... THE DEFINITION of the term overrated, he can pass ok i guess, but thats not what you want a second rower to do.
12.Tony Puletua ... damn hard runner ... cant fault him at all
13.Jason Croker... super player, but age counts against him bigtime.

14.Nathan Hindmarsh... has never made it in the big games, and thats because he's not as tough as you think.
15.Clinton Toopi ... solid player, nothing special
16.Dane Carlaw ... plays above himself in SOO ... his NRL worth is much less
17.Nathan Cayless ... good player, but needs quality around him

18.Matt Orford ... can be brilliant, can be awful ... more good than bad
19.Josh Perry ... honest toiler, thats about it
20.Stephen Kearney ... getting on ... doesnt do much for me
21.Simon Woolford ... he's ok
22.Lesley Vainikolo ... big unit, but he doesnt count because he doesnt play in the NRL
23.Ruben Wiki... fantastic player ... HUGE hitter and if he was ever paired with Adrian Morley then i fear desperately for the other team's health.
24.Matt Gidley ... has improved his defence somewhat, but is still up and down in his performances.
25.David Peachey ... WAS a good player ... WAS is very appropriate.

Squad 2:
1.Rhys Wesser ... one of the most dynamic fullbacks around
2.Hazem El Masri (g/k) ... he is worth at least 90% of his overall goalkicking % ... good value
3.Mark Gasnier... not a bad centre, not a terribly great one either
4.Nigel Vagana ... knows how to find the line ... is worth MANY tries to any team.
5.Michael De Vere ... average toiler, not much else
6.Trent Barrett ... in rep games he is fantastic, in NRL he is average ... very injury prone
7.Craig Gower (c) .... tough little player, top little halfback

8.Shane Webcke ... still the best prop in the game, in terms of knowledge and action too
9.Danny Buderus ... he cant do what Wing can do, but he's the second best hooker in the game.
10.Robbie Kearns ... honest, solid and straightforward.
11.Ben Kennedy ... one of the best second rowers in the game, no doubt.
12.Kevin Campion ... hard bastard ... never gives in
13.Glenn Morrison ... very good player, needs more consistency though

14.Steve Price ... great metre eater and very solid
15.Luke Davico ... good hard player
16.Steven Menzies ... fantastic player, he's a forward but is as fast as a back
17.Matt Geyer ... bordering on very good ... depends how his forwards go

18.Clinton Schifcofske ... solid fullback
19.Timana Tahu .... mr dropsy himself, highly overrated
20.Jason Stevens ... average
21.Adam MacDougall ... getting on
22.Braith Anasta ... extremely overrated, but can sometimes do brilliant things
23.Lance Thompson ... very hard worker, very solid
24.Nick Graham ... average
25.John Skandalis... below average

Team two by between 40 and 60 points.

I'd say team 1.

Team 1 has several play makers at it's disposal in Lockyer, Jones, Orford, and Hill. Team 2 only really has Gower. Barrett and Anasta aren't that great and rarely fire. All team 1 would have to do is smash Gower and it's game over.

And this bit is for OVP.

I noticed you rated down Croker because of his age, yet he had a blinder year, better than Menzies did and you rated him very highly. Menzies last time I checked ain't no spring chicken and has also lost alot of his pace he had when younger.

As someone else said, squad 1's better in the backs, squad 2's better in the forwards. The benches and the players outside the top 17 - there's good and bad in both.

In the end, I'll vote for team 1 because I prefer the halves combination. Close call, though.

The only reason he was rated-down was because i doubt he'd figure in any Rep teams (dont blame me, blame the selectors ... i know what theyre like in NSW) ... he's already been there and done that, and i still think HE IS A SUPER PLAYER.

I'd go squad 1 too, but it's close. I like the depth there, and a few who should be in the starting lineup (Gidley for Talau, Woolford for Swain), and many Ruben Wiki, Kearney, Hindmarsh, Perry, Orford, Peachey who wouldn't weaken any side by their inclusion
