He coached 12's at Concord in about '74 when I played against em.

He was also the central figure in "The Lubinskas Affair"

His name is spelled: Mick Liubinskas. With an "i".

I reckon that makes it tricky finding stuff on him Starkers.

Prop forward from the centres, played with Wests 1974-78, Balmain 1979.

That's from the RL Players Encylcopedia.

The 'Liubinskas affair'... would that have been the illegal replacement thing when Wests were stripped of a comp point in 1975?

It ultimately forced Wests into a three-way play-off for a semi-final spot.

Wests second rower from memmory..dark hair with a big moustache..a good player - he actually resides in the Cabarita area - bought a new house there about 18 months ago..funnily enough i saw him at the Cabo grog shop about 3 days ago..still looks pretty fit -- Funny story he used to date a Mirror page 3 girl in about 1978- one night he and his girl were leaving reflections wine bar in Burwood road...i opened the door and it hit his girl right on the end of her snozz...i immediately turned 4 different colours of purple, esp when i saw him standing behind her lol --- he understood and so did she good people -

Bruiser looks like he's eaten an opposition front row (not front rower - front row) BIG lad.
